I'm looking to buy a new set of tires for the spring/summer/fall season. Anyone know of good places in the GTA that offers good tires at decent prices? I'm not looking to spend a fortune, and I'm not set on either all seasons or summers. It would be a bonus if they do free installs with purchase.

For the type of driving you do, i'd go with a performance all-season.
You really don't need to spend the extra money on summers. You'll just burn through them faster.

I take it you have dedicated 'winter' tires? (which every Canadian should!)
Normally I would say "yes... winter tires for winter and summer tires for summer", but for the CougarBum, I wouldn't worry about it. You still have the stock wheels and don't do any track / autox stuff.
Just get some good all-seasons... finding performance/summer tires to fit 16"s will most likely cost more than you would be willing to pay.

Yeah i have winters sitting in the garage. I posted either summers or all seasons in case someone had a fairly new set they were gonna give up for a good price. Otherwise i'm looking for mostly all seasons.

She's looking for 16s, so if your 17s were only $120, that place might actually be cheaper...
This is the place, right?

yah, the guy dave (i believe his name was) he was a really good guy to deal with, they are really busy so dont get discouraged if u are on hold for a bit. Imanaged to bargain a bit with him so see what u can work out with him, just find out a couple of costs before u call him and let him know what other places are offering.

Check out Automotive Import Market (http://www.canpages.ca/page/ON/markham/automotive-import-market-(aim)/1350296.html) in Markham.
They have good prices, and check out the Kumho ASX all Seasons (http://www.kumhotire.ca/tires/details.php?line=1&cat=7&ptn=KU-21). They make an exact match 215/50R/16 for the stock rims.
Excellent tire for the money.

order them from discount tire, have them shipped to Carls place and get them put on there if the ones you have are crap.

By the time you factor in shipping, driving, mounting and balancing, she might as well get them locally.

Mike - I got free shipping last time I ordered from them :) The only cost was gas to drive there. If Maya decides what tires she wants (like a brand/size) I can check out what my guy has in stock.

Free shipping is only part of it. That's offset by the gas to get there and back.
On top of that, she'd have to pay for mounting/balancing where if she bought them locally, it would be included.
The tires would have to be ALOT cheaper to make it worthwhile.
About your tire guy... she wants a performance-type all-season. Either 215/50/16, 205/55/16 or 225/50/16. Nothing specific.
**EDIT**
Tire Details - Discount Tire Direct (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?c=1&sw=false&cs=225&pc=18112&rd=16&ar=50)
$96 + shipping + mounting/balancing
She can get them for $99 mounted, balanced and installed. So it's definitely not worth the hassle of ordering online.

something I've always wondered about too... when ordering online and shipping to a location in the States and then bringing them into Canada. Doesn't any warranty that might have come with the tires get voided?

Matt - Most are manufacturer warrenties, so they cover most of North America as long as you can provide a reciept. I know my tires were anywhere in N.A. with roadside assistance up to XXXXX kms/miles. My rims also carried Enkei's N.A. warrenty.
Mike - I'll call Kevin tomorrow and see if he can match or beat that price. At least see if he can match the price in CAD to offset the price a bit.

If you guys end up going with Discount tire, let me know. I was planning on ordering 2 tires from them and having them shipped for free to a u.s location and going over to pick them up.
Dan, if you could see what you can do for me pricewize. Falken Ziex512 225/40/18
