So I just went to a 7-11 for a snack run(got a craving for chocolate) and when I got there the parking lot was empty. While inside I see a cop come in to get some coffee and upon leaving I see his ride. Only it wasn't a squad car, it was a riced out silver celica gt. It had a ridiculous body kit, tons of decals, big as muffler, lowered, and all the other typical trimmings. So upon further inspection it also had all the "cop" trimmings such as lights, radar, and the such. They where tricky enough to slap a FOR SALE sign on rear window and had the license plate covered with one of those plastic shield thingys that was all scratched up so you couldn't read the municipal tag. So I just sit there till he comes out and say "thats one hell of an odd looking crown vic you got there." He just smiled, open the lambo doors, and drove off. Gotta say I was surprised to see that they where pulling that undercover racing stuff around here. At least I know now that if I see that celica roll up on me, Ill just move over and let him by.

I know at least one of the cops around here drives a Vette. He came into the flying J that my mother works at. Other than that, we've got Crown Vics, Impallas, and Chargers. And just random trucks. I've seen F1, 2, & 350s, Exploders, Silverados, S-10s, rangers... Even saw a Hummer, not the H2 or H3, but the REAL Hummer.

Same thing happen to me in Hickory NC, everyone cruises light to light in front of the mall up their and the cops rarely pull you for racing, but not only do they have their own police force for that place called the "Hickory Police Pact" but i came out of a gas station right behind a cop and i watched him get into a early 90's blacked out eclpise with a body kit, rims, wing and all i could think was the only way he could blend in any more was if he drove a green 97 honda with a fart can on the back

Boise is crazy nuts about this crap and nobody races, but almost everybody tries to run from the cops, so far I've seen, Chargers, magnum wagons, 04 cobra, 05 mustang gt, mid 98-99 celica, 2 CBR 900RR's, a dozen or so harley's, a dozen or so BMW bikes, a handful of KTM enduro bikes, f150 lightning, of course a couple camaros, and I think I saw a speed6 the other day but not sure.
All the fords are maintained at the same dealer I take the mustang to, and all are far from stock from what I understand I've only ever seen them being driven in and out of the shop so I've never had a chance to look at them.
All the bikes I was able to look at last week at a charity bike meet. They ran patrols for us blocking intersections, it was great, and damn I don't want to have the CBR's chasing me they are crazy fast.

Just dont go to Kingsport Tennessee, we have 4 unmarked chargers, and a 2001 Mustang with a 5.0L swap, his name is Dell Farmer, and hes a cocky little freak, but with that car i would be too. They are all stick shift too. Darkhorse has pretty much all of us beat, but kingsport is a small town.

... and a Legacy GT, Purdue has a Firebird Trans-am.
They normally wait in slow zones, and this actually makes me happy. Those ****ers that ride my ass in 30mph zones because they want to do 50mph get tickets. :) All you have to do is not speed. No worries.

I grew up just south of Louisville, and every couple of years GM donates 2 Corvettes to the KSP, one runs up and down 65 the other runs up and down 75, I think that they have 4 on the road right now.

I have tremendous respect for the KSP, and even more respect when they car catch me

Speaking of Hamilton, New Jersey, I was going up to Uno's Pizzeria tonight around midnight with my friend to get some pizza up to Hamilton going down 295.
I'm no sooner 2 miles on when I see the lights flash in the back and I get pulled over by an undercover crown vic statie. Turns out I accidentally ran a red light and was speeding on 295. who knew?
Thankfully got let off with a warning.

The good news is, it's a Celica. It couldn't even catch 90% of the "Street racers" out there anyway.

Embelish much?
First of all, Jacksonville doesn't have a police station, because they are served by a Sheriff's office. This is important, because their squad cars say "Sheriff" on them, not "Police." Not to mention their paint scheme looks nothing like that on the GTO you posted, oh and, a quick google search finds the IDENTICAL image on a website from 4 years ago for Australian Police vehicles... This particular car (bottom left) belongs to a police department in Victoria, Australia (which might also explain the right hand drive as well) (http://www.111emergency.co.nz/AusPolice.htm)
I bet last time you went fishing you caught a mighty big fish, too

In NY they use taxis and towncars
The Jamie
05-14-2008, 09:30 PM
...they use taxis? That reminds me I should get a photo of this weird ass painted taxi I've seen a few times downtown... it reminds me of a carousel.
In my old hometown they had a riced out civic for special "high speed pursits"... this was a small town of about 3k people...

Here in Kitchener, the only thing remotely undercover was a cop, in uniform, driving a beige crown victoria with 3 antennas and the typical police rim and tire...was quite obvious for being an undercover cop.

05-16-2008, 01:23 PM
Yeah, black steelies with crome bolt on center caps just gives cop cars away. Not to meantion the million antenas.
That's technically "Unmarked" Not undercover. Undercover is when they perposfully try to make it look as un-police like as possible, like the celica. Unmarked means that it's just a cop car they couldn't afford decals for ;)

Speaking of taxi, there is a transit service around here called Access Link that uses old decommissioned Interceptors that you would never be able to tell wasn't a cop until you see the paint job on the sides. Drives me nuts since they know this and drive like assholes up your ass betting on you thinking its a cop and move over.

They do that here in York, Civic hatchbacks and ugly ass Mustangs.
