View Full Version : Unimpressed with Team Ford Parts Online

I was ordering a part up from them off their website. List price was about that of the local store but I figured I would pay the little extra for shipping to get the Ford part instead of some random brand from the parts store. I put in CC info get the confirmation e-mails and assume I will see a part in a few days. a day or 2 later I get a couple e-mails from them that they can't sell the part at that listed price and they need to sell it for $15 more than that (this is only a $55 part to start with). They ask if I still want it or if I want to cancel the order. I tell them if they will honor the price I ordered it for online I'll take it and if not no thanks but either way please reply and let me know what they are doing. It has been a few more days now and the part is still listed on their site for the too low we can't sell it for that price and they haven't replied with what their plan is for selling me the part at listed price or canceling the order.



This is not an oh I hate Team Ford post. If you want to come in and say hey I bought from them and it was great piss off. I have ordered from them many times and had limited if any problems with other orders. This is why I ordered from them this time and will likely order from them in the future. They are good guys overall this is just one of the bad cases where there is an issue.

I had a similar recent transaction. they email me and said they couldn't get some parts but could if I wanted to pay more. I have been waiting for the order for about a month now. I was fianlly billed but I haven't been sent anything to my knowledge.

fyi there are two Bills at team ford, Bill jenkins and Bill Reed .... iirc Bill Reed handles the web orders ...

Every time I've talked to Bill Jenkins over the phone things have gone fine. As stated before, give them a call and see whats the haps - worst case you cancel your order and have a bit of a bad taste in your mouth, but you could get what you want out of it still. :)

still annoying concidering how much money I have spent with them in the last year, let alone the last few months ... although my last few orders where all upgraded to next day air without being asked or charged for it.

This isn't good news... I was thinking of buying door hinges from that site... Should I reconsider???:confused: I'd be a first time buyer from there.

i bought a bran new IMRC from them with no problems at all.. i went to the dealer the day before and asked how much it was for the same exact part number they wanted 446.43$ for it.. thats at a Cambrian Ford in Sudbury. But on the TeamFord website it was advertised at 169.00$ for it.. witch is an awesome deal compared the Cambrian Fords price.. and when i did the transaction they told me it was going to be 10$ more because of the fact that i live in canada so the shipping is a little more.. but still i would pay the 179.00$ any day over the 450ish$ Cambrian ford Wanted..

So overall my opinion it was a great transaction and i am very grateful they saved me 200ish$.

and as for buying the door hinges from them I'd go for them. it seems like they have awesome communication and are reasonable on prices.

I think the problem is no one ever says order from teamford.com, we all say CALL Bill J @ Team Ford. The only problem I have had with orders with calling Bill J was an honest mistake. Simply the difference of what a partsman thinks a bumper support is, and what the lye person thinks a bumper support is(I was actually looking for the bumper "cover" support). Bill J is a super nice guy, he is not going to try to sell you **** you don't need, and will normally go the extra mile to get you the right part, and he will normally you the status of when parts will actually ship. Moral of the story..... CALL BILL J.

i ordered a svt tb bracket an item they don't carry anymore but bill sent me an email saying he would find one and drop ship it for me asap. i would say keep using them everyone has mishaps.....reasons for extra money is they prolly are getting the parts from other places which are raising prices so they aren't in busniess to lose money.

Yeah, you need to ask for the parts guy by name. Usually there's one guy in the department who handles all internet orders. If you don't ask for him, you won't get the discount!

Bill Jenkins is the one who e-mailed me telling me the price needed to be higher. Well actually Jenkins and Reed both e-mailed me about it.

I wouldn't worry about these issues really. I will order from them again but I will as nadthomas said call and speak to Bill Jenkins like every other time I have ordered from them. They really are good guys with good pricing, this is just an issue that came up.

i would say call dont e-mail just due to the fact you e-mail your not going to get any deals because your a NECO member, since anyone working besides Bill J could read your e-mails. If you call i'm sure its a different story. I've always called and got IMRC, SVT TB, SVT bracket, SVT cable, and never had any problems what so ever and got it within a couple of business days, sometimes even overnight.

my experience has been if the part is common, or in stock you will get your order really fast. its when you have an odd item or a hard to find item that I have run into problems.

out of all the orders through teamford I have made, only once did I have an issue and it was due to some new girl misplacing the orders which contained mine but bill covered for her and made it right. thumbs up from me.

What does happen sometime is a part is obsolete, on backorder, or the online catalog has the old part # that has been superseded to a newer part #. Most of the time the bakcordered part we can locate and ship out, this also goes for obsolete parts. What happenes there is the dealer will not sell it at cost, but 10% over cost, unless they need to get rid of it and sell it for cost. When a part # is superseded, then the price will most likely change just because it has a new #.

I always try to get you guys the best dealer possible. But we are not 100% perfect. And yes if you call me you will get better service. But I am a VERY busy person and things do happen.

Just to clear up what happened to his order. The original part # was XS2Z-9F715-BB that had a list of $87.20 and a NECO of $~53.00, that was replaced by a newer part # of XS2Z-9F715-BC List $112.90 and NECO of $67.74. So we emailed him about the price increase before shipping and then finding out we charged him a higher price.
