Silly little honda...

Seems like all my posts are goin in road tales.. Anyway,

so i'm ridin around today, went over to Opelika where the gas is cheaper.

well it's a four lane road over there and back.. i filled up the cougar and was on the way back when i pulled up to a redlight beside this very rice-ish honda CRX... the turn signal lights up and i eased forward a little early.. then realized oh yeah, turn signal.. DUH!

apparently the Honda thought i wanted to race.. starts revving like some kinda bad-a.. i look over and he has his girl in the car.. so playing along i pull down my sunglasses and wink at her, then look at him and cut a cheesy little grin.. he smiles.. nods.. and looks at the light.

I look back and remember about 75 yards past the intersection the road goes back to 2 lanes goin into town.. whatever,ill be past him..

light turns, he barks a tire and takes off.. i ease on the throttle til he gets about two lengths ahead then hammer it! didn't even get outta first and was back even with him.. he looks over as i hit second and i started toying with him.. then waved and pointed ahead... still trying his hardest, he gives a dumbfuzzled look and glances forward to see the ass end of the truck bout 50 feet away that had pulled out into his lane.. I hear an "OH ****!" and screechin tires as he tries to stop but just wasn't quick enough... nailed the 2500 Chevy in front of him doin prolly bout 35..

i felt bad but couldn't help but chuckle as i drove past... guess i should've stopped but yeah.. that'd take the fun out of it!

funny thing was, at the very next light.. I got revved at again... by, of course... another honda..

I woulda seen if his girl was alright. But thats what he gets for street racing. You should consider yourself lucky. Dumb, but lucky. Keep it on the track.

So Im surprised that you haven't burned to death by flames yet. I gotta say that could have ended up much worse IE he didn't see the truck at all and slammed him doing 70mph killing himself his girl and who knows who else, or he cuts over a lane and who knows what happens next. I like going fast and even though I have full confidence in my driving ability(no speeding tickets or fault accidents ever) I have zero faith in others driving ability. Too many variables on public roads. So thats all I gotta say about this thread.

On another note though someone should really edit the description of "Road Tales" to eliminate "have a kill story..." cause it invites too many foolish stories of street racing that usually results in flaming. There should be a zero tolerance for it and just lock these threads, warn the op that its not condoned and leave it at that rather then leave it open for someone to get torn apart.

i have to admit as i own both a v6 MTX cougar and a 95 honda civic si... and my honda civic i pretty much keep up with my cougar.. so... that CRX must of had a big flaw in it... or the driver was just plain stupid.. i have nothing against honda's

this is a link to the performance of all 1992-1995 honda civic... read about the SI. it has a 125 hp vtech.. and the curb weight of the car is about 500 less then the cougar.... and easily with a b18 swap you can get 280hp at the crank..

there very easy to put power in..

lol i k funny looking things...no the crx si only has 108 hp edmunds.com i don't think the kid even had that model prolly just base model so not even 100 hp but the civic si 95 did have 125hp your right with 109 ftlb torque.

yea in a way but many people have their thoughts on street racing i mean yea its dangerous i used to do it everyday with my pgt, but we were in a controlled environment. we went to an abandoned air strip and raced on pavement in the middle of a field so it was a lot safer then the streets. on the streets yea it def not safe but if everyone of these guys in here says they have never done it or won't do it, they are lying its impossible to have a sporty car and not get on it ESPECIALLY when a little ricer pulls up boucing his weed whacker off the rev limitor and smoke going everywhere cause every honda older then 99 smokes. its so hard not to laugh and blow him away come on everyone does it and it might only be to like 40 mph but guess what a cop see it your getting racing and wreckless all thee above so it don't matter on the speed.

As far as I am concerned, everyone is coming out good from this little story. He taught a ricer a lesson, the truck owner is gonna get extra money to either mod his/her truck or fill up the tank again, no one seems to have been seriously hurt, and he's not gonna do it again. (Well, he might, but we all sucumb to temptation every once in a while)

And yes, great kill story. Like I said, you had a good laugh, the ricer learned a lesson, and the truck owner is gonna get a couple free tanks of gas out of it from insurance.
