I have a momentary switch located right on the side of the console next to my seat for my O/D since I broke the wire :disgust:

I also had a subwoofer switch (toggle) located right on the back of my console... until I realized that I just wiried the remote wire up incorrectly.

My sister has a toggle switch on her Cougar for her underglow kit located right under the steering wheel about where her right knee sits.

I had a few toggle switches in my overhead console, but I will be moving them to my fiberglassed aftermarket CD bezel.

i hear bobby is very resourceful on this subject

:ty:

seriously though, if you have an aftermarket cd player the bottom of the holder (inside) is a great place because nobody will be able to see them. i also have a hidden one behind the ash tray.

just wondering, why hide them?

out of sight and hidden are two different things. the out of sight ones are just because i didnt want toggle switches sticking out all over my dash (plus i didnt want to drill in anything permanent in case i took it out later. holes in the dash FTL!)

the hidden one is because it turns on red and blue flashing leds which are highly illegal, lol.

i have a toggle switch for my fog lights, it is on the side of my center console right by my right knee/shin and is my favorite place for a switch in the cougar. it lights up red when its on too

I just installed some aftermarket fog lights and i put the toggle right between the headlight switch and the instrument panel dimmer.

I've been told my switch plate is pretty bad ass  Don't mind the temporary painter's tape, I'm finding a better way to secure that soon. Just unscrew the fold up top of the center console and do it like I did in the pics. If you buy those types of switches, you just unscrew the plastic collar and then put it through about a 1/4" hole in the aluminum plate and screw it back on so it pinches. If the plate is exactly the right size to really jam in there, it'll be so solid. There's absolutely no give to it at all the way I have it set up which is awesome.

P.S. yeah that's an actual chrome stud in the hole lol. Looks better than the rubber one though ;)

that's in an awkward spot to reach back and turn on/off the switches....

i like where i placed my switches more than any other ive seen... which involves getting rid of the drink spiller.

ill post pics tomorrow.

isn't the cougar center console similar to the contour one? if so I got rid of the cup holders and then cut a peice of aluminum to fit the openning.

Mine are down in the space where the ashtray and cig lighter normally are. I don't smoke, nor do I allow anyone to smoke, so that area was expendable to me.

For the power, I ran a seperate power wire from the battery, under the carpet, and underneath the center console. Back on the floor behind the switches is a fuse block for 6 things, and from the fuse block, everything is wired to the panel. Its actually not as complicated as people here make it seem, lol.

what kind of fuse block did you use

A basic one from AutoZone, I think. Its rated for 30amps in each slot and I have 30amp fuses in it. No problems for well over a year now.
