I was in Penn State with a friend visiting his old frat house. I fell down the stairs (no ill reason) and now I have a 12in fracture on my head, I lost 25 pounds in the hospital
I can't smell or taste anything either :disgust: but best of all they're sure i'll make a full recovery in 6 weeks (happened April 5th) so that's good.
is this for real? If so, sorry to hear that. i hope youre ok.
I was in a similar situation last year. head fracture with partial amnesia.

Eh, I wish it wasn't real :disgust: but it didn't even break my skin so I guess that's lucky i won't have any scars. My feelings are strange also, they come and go in elevated ways.. but it's luckily minor. I could taste very little today so thats good news

Peace~
Wow, that's amazing that you did it without breaking the skin. I guess that's lucky, if something like this can be lucky...
Did you go right to the hospital or try to tell yourself that you were okay and shake it off?

Yeah thats a good point.. lol
I don't remember anything from when it happened till wed.. the night is pretty hazy during about the hour before it happened. After I have no idea, apparently I was very vulgar and made no sense.. ha
They took me to the hospital, although some brothers that saw it thought it would be okay for me to lay on the couch and "get better". Thank god people were smarter :p

Sorry to hear that man, hope all goes well.
Let me guess, blue and white weekend?
Yeah, definitely a good thing that someone realized it was more serious than just a bump. Well hopefully you continue to regain your senses and start to feel better soon. :)

So, the key is that my olfactory nerve is damaged. It's impossible to predict if i'll regain full smell or taste, it may take up to a year for that to get fixed. We'll see for now.. :flushed:

O.o no taste or smell, that'd be an interesting change. Knew someone who didn't have taste, downed some habenero sauce and challenged some others in my gym class to do the same. Let's just say it didn't turn out pretty for those who could taste the stuff.
Good to know you're on a steady recovery. Keep it up!
Food soon to follow, I move to NY in 2 months for school :D

on the bright side, you'll out live us all: you won't have a desire to eat fatty or sugary foods, and you won't mind the taste of health food.

Heh, see it's REAL wierd now.
I have the desire to eat more, because I can taste "basics" in food (sugar, fat, salt, spice, and a few etc's that I can't think of the words to explain).
I know what most everything tastes like, so heres what happens when I sit down to eat.
1) Consume
2) Taste basics
3) Brain "makes up" whatever I remember it as, in it's best version.
4) I love food even more than before.
So, for lunch today I ate pizza. It looked good, had good texture, and was good temperature. I have no idea how it REALLY tasted (other than some fatty sensation from the cheese and sweet sensation from sauce) but that didn't matter, it was now the best pizza I had ever had.
REAL wierd, but hell.. pretty fun.
And indeed, Gary. I've changed my diet a bit to consume healthier food, and it's going great. I drink V8 tomato juice on a regular basis, I just ignore the fact that I thought it was gross and it works well.. lol

That's awesome that you have your best meal ever... every time you eat!
Now where should I strike myself with a hammer???

use a (blunter) opject and hit back of head... it'll send the damage forward
