So I work at Best Buy, and two of my managers have stock Scion TCs and one Customer Assistant has a really nice one, Tein springs, enkei rims, CAI, TRD exhaust, Full Body Kit, short throw shifter. And my mods are Injen sri, Flowmaster exhaust, and a few little things like optimized TB and stuff like that. Anyway, we all closed last night and left at the same time and pulled onto the main road wich is an 8 lane, 4 one way 4 opposite way, but we all lined up and on green we freakin launched, it was a sight to see. They kept up with me until late 2nd gear then the stockies dropped back and the modded one kept up until mid 3rd gear wich is where they lose their power, then he started dropping back, by the 1/2 mile range, i had the modded one by a good 5 lengths. so it was a good night.

Nice J-O-B. I've always like the looks of the TC's but never heard much on how they perform. But be prepared, people are gonna rag on you for street racing. Nice kill though ;)

Thank ya, they arent too bad thru 3rd, but 3rd is where the whole 4cylinder comes into play. But it was about 1am and the road was empty, otherewise i dont drive too fast. But the one with the mods looks really nice, and the TRD exhaust sounds actually really good, nice deep tone.

The gf has a tC with the TRD exhaust so I know the sound which isnt bad. I remember when she bought it I was like hmm looks like its a little zippy....that was till I drove it. Its a damn sloth. But for the price its not a bad little car. She might actually be trading it in for a new Corrolla XRS though.

Classic street racer excuse, just before they kill somebody. Find a track and quit being an idiot on public streets, thus giving the rest of us a bad name.

Most of us have raced, yes, we all know its dumb, but theres no need to remind everyone in every thread. Can we make an official "Street Racing Is Dumb" thread?

Nice kill, be safe.

but don't them things have like 95 horsepower?

Scion rates the tC's power output at 160 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque at 5700 rpm and 4000 rpm, respectively. Our test mule was a preproduction model that was modified with a polished AEM cold-air intake and a TRD exhaust, two enhancements that will be available directly from your Scion dealer, so we were unable to get absolute numbers for a bone-stock example. On our house Dynojet, our tC laid down 141-peak hp and 152 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, so we expect the modifications added around 10 hp more than the factory bottom line.

With our test monkey behind the wheel, the tC managed to eke out a 15.7-second quarter mile at 88.2 mph at the track, just as we originally predicted. Remember, the car also weighs close to 3,000 pounds. Thanks to a relatively generous torque curve, 0-to-30 mph was achieved in just under 3 seconds. At higher velocities the 2AZ-FE begins to pant a little, taking more than twice as long to go from 60 to 100 as it does to go from 0 to 60, which it manages in 7.8 seconds.

Found this about to tC. I've heard nothing good about them. My buddies gf has one thats modded lightly. Bodykit/rims/intake/exhaust. Things S-L-O-W! But looks nice for a black n' pink chick car.

Anyways good job taking out 3 ****ty cars!

But where im movin theres the Bristol drag strip about 10 mins away.

Now see, that's gonna be sweet. My closest strip is 30+ mins away, meaning the car has to be on the trailer to race -- can't risk not having a way to get the car back. You'll enjoy having a strip that close, means you can test n tune often...

but theres no need to remind everyone in every thread

And yet this is YOUR opinion. When you've lost a close friend (such as I) to a dumb-ass street race, then come talk to me. Also realize that I run 2 shops on two sides of the country, I've sold parts to people who a week later come back with broken bodies talking about how they wrecked. Once you see it from that angle, you'd change your mind.

Until then I will continue to flame every street racer -- because no matter how cool the "kill" is, it's still retarded, illegal, and is destroying the culture by the excessive police eyes on us due to this crap...

Yeah, i lived there for most of my life, until 6 months ago i moved down here. They hold a thing called Street Fights at the bristol drag strip every thursday night, only 10 bucks to race all night long. It was pretty sweet. Until you get matched up against an 7second Datsun, then you just feel stupid.

I find it funny that people are ragging on a car that has very similar performance numbers in the 1/4 mile to the cougar.
