I'd drive around the block a dozen times or so before you left if I was you . . . :ugh:
By the way, the appropriate wording should be "highway", not "road", and you're pretty much obligated to play that song repeatedly throughout the trip.

I would shoot myself after about 40 miles.

I don't think I'd make it that long, and I rather like AC/DC.

There are probably several people from Empire coming down out of New York that you can caravan with.

It's not that I mind the drive its that time is something I don't get too much of. Allot of stuff going on with work and personal life so Im just figuring out how much more time will be added with travel.

since my drive is nearly 4x as long, quit your whining (oh, and moving out of the gen cougar section ;) )

Its quite a bit of a drive out there from San Diego. I drove from virginia to colorado and that blew ass. Took 27 hours.

I think the guys from SoCal have got everyone beat, with their 40 hour drive.

Its just one day of driving. Wake up earlier Thursday morning and hit the road, you'll make it to Indy at almost the perfect time. If you get to Columbus in time you can take the last leg of the trip with our caravan. Caravaning makes the trip fly right by.

Caravan usually leaves Columbus, Ohio at about 3pm.

Yipes! 10mpg without a trailer? Sorry man
And according to Google, it's about 1600 miles to get there from here... I'm still really hoping I can get a good job in the next 2 months.

10mph sucks, but it's not 1600 miles at least. =) I dunno if I could sit that long any more, I already have to make 3 stops between Detroit and Indy...

Ah, boo hoo.
Actually I get 10-12 MPG solo with the camper and usually 9.5 or so while towing a car.

when does it become cheaper to just drive the coug and get a hotel room and not driving the camper and towing the car?

We're probably past that point. But then there are other reasons for bringing the camper. :)
But I wasn't complaining, just hassling E1. :)

maybe talk to the guys around pittsburg. the empire guys could meet up then meet up w/ some more people around pittsburg then through to columbus and meet the ohio people. then we can get a huge caravan to indy. that would b kinda cool.

You are getting very close to Pittsburgh. Problem being though. Theres only about 3 active members around Pitt. Me being the most active. I will be leaving for a cruise in the Bahamas the friday of fest. So I wont be making the trip. Seedogg prob wont come due to wifey, and Vyk has pretty much the same issue as Seedogg. So I dont think we will have any Pittsburgh Reps this year at Fest. Also I havent herd from Vyk or Seedogg in months...

I know Cougirllp, seaneyo99, and myself are coming from Keystone, and I think a couple Empire members are joining us. We'd be meeting up with the Columbus crew for the last leg...PM me closer to fest if you want to arrange a meeting point.
