well this marks the start of the journey.

Flying into Oklahoma City to pic her up and drive her back to chicago [13 hours, 800 miles].

The fun part will be learning stick on a prepped tranny..

ya, incredibly well cared for car. nothing done to the car that is unwanted, no hacked wires... etc.

the towncar had some issues this morning... I'm keeping it. Soon it will be getting its pads and rotors replaced [already have], and whatever snapped today. And then go back to my grandfathers parking spot... until I can pick up an 03 cobra engine for it.

its necissary, gas for the towncar is running me 300-400 a month JUST for commuting to work. I simply cant afford to keep it on daily driver duty.

I guess thats the price you pay for transporting your living room with you.

eitherway the contour isnt going to be modded in any way. its simply a dumb car that I'm going to take a hands off approach to.

I bought my 96 Contour for a winter/DD. It was completely stock and is staying that way. It even has the stock CD player that doesn't work. :biggrin:

well if the links down let me summerize, its a 96 contour SE with 131k.... ANALLY maintaned, every fillup logged, all maintence recorded... my god he even bought all the ford factory service manuals [we're talkin like 4000 pages]. A trunk full of spare parts, no vultures please.

its an MTX, with a torsen, updated forks, svt flywheel, spec stage one clutch, K&N intake, coated headers and ypipe, borla muffler [the rest is stock]. completely rust free, something I would never find around chicago.

Finally got compfortable enough driving it today that I really opened it up... its pretty damn fast... alot faster than I was expecting.

Yup, it's a 2.5L MTX. It only has about 31K miles on a Ford Factory rebuilt motor and they put a new clutch in at the same time. It runs better than my Cougar. :biggrin:

well I've finally gotten the hang of stick shift.

my freakin god is the car fast... luckily its only a hint of what the cougar will be like _soon_

but also it definitely isnt the cougar. the car just feels small sitting in it. it feels awkward driving with the windows down.

cracked the engine bay the other day... thought I would install some gofast parts I had laying around... honestly this guy did a bang up job with the car. replaced one of the vavle breather hoses and that was it, everything else was better than the spares I had laying around. Also I gotta say it was wierd looking at an unstripped engine bay. I've completely forgotten all that crap was in there. My car looks nekkid.
