My brother got a new F-150 a couple weeks ago  love the truck, silver with dark blue. It's a 2008 FX4 short box, with the 5.4L, but on to the story..

We are on our way out of town, my brother following me in the Cougar when we reach the last set of light before the highway. We have noting in front of us but a straight stretch of road and a little sign that says maximum 100km/h .
Naturally my brother takes the open lane beside me and gives his truck a little rev. Now both knowing the outcome of the race, i just smile and give him a rev back.
So on the all red I get ready to launch, rev it up to 3k. Green light. I take off tires spinning. Well I slipped off the clutch a little to fast, so instead of that nice little spin, my tires a squealing like a pig.:rofl:
There we are, neck and neck off the line, tires spinning, finally I hook up. The car pulls hard leaving my brother behind me, I keep on it until cruising speed and let off.
I don't know how bad I beat him, but it was quite the kill. Not that it mattered anyways, its all in good fun. haven't raced like that for quite a long time now.

nice, well i guess its just the kind of relationship i have with my brother, if it was just some guy in a truck i wouldn't have bothered but because it was him thats what made it fun.

Tell him to get a tune for that truck. Those things have amazing potential, just, not with the factory tune.

lol, yeah and it would sounds amazing with exhaust  I think he is looking into keeping it stock. If he wanted to go fast, he'd buy a mustang lol

I think he will eventually do some mods to it, with my influence haha

not hating on the mustangs, but if you want to go fast, that's not a wise decision.

The problem with going fast, is you really have to have a car that does NOT look like it can go fast. That way, when you're not going fast, the cops dont pay attention. And when you are going fast, cops dont look at you like some ricer/wanna be racer.

Yeah thats true, I still love Mustangs.. but I do love the sleeper effect at the same time.

I'm not so worried about cops anyways, if they see a young guy in a car they will keep an eye out no matter what kind of car your in. And if they catch you, your going down weather your in a mustang or Ka car.

An old work buddy let this guy in a 5.0L stang get to him and got caught racing in his T/A (whatever the last body style was before they stopped being made). Really nice car, and the cop let him off with a speeding ticket and told him he had a nice car, and to be more responcible with it. While he could have cut up his licenes.
Being in his late 20's early 30's probably helped him out there, and having a clean record.

Cougars>Mustangs... 99% of the 'Stangs you see are the V6, and I know that my 2.5 will kick it in the balls. I took down your everyday, auto v6 mustang a couple months ago on the highway. They are gutless, my old 99 neon 5-speed would run side by side with one stock. SUNDANCE FTW!

Well said, and very true. And you don't get as much idiots revving at you in the Cougar.

Tell you what I'll come down with my V6 Mustang when I get it back and we will see if you can still kick it in the balls.

lol that would be a good race modded Cougar vs modded V6 Stang. What do you have done to your mustang?

Uh, why not? There's probably as many 10 second mustangs out there as there are any other platform, and they have more go-fast parts on the market than just about anything else save for maybe DSM's.

Its going to a shelby authorized fab shop in Vegas, Shelby can't do the work themselves due to some agreement with ford, but it starts next week being turned into the CS6 with the Paxton S/C. I'm getting them to rework the internals too, and redo the transmission to hold the extra HP and torque. Should be pushing right at 380hp or so maybe more.

Ok so let me refrase that. It would be a good race with a Shelby GT and your V6 stang lol.

I would say Mustangs are the best bang for your buck to go fast. I want to race one of my classmates in his atx '01 GT, Just to see how I will do against it. He said he wants to take it to the track with us this summer. It should be fun. Oh yeah and I'll be taking out the sub, spare tire/jack etc. Try to make it lighter as much as I can, maybe even the back seat but we will see.. I really want to hit 14's with my 2.5L set-up..

Not that I'm a mustang lover but I'd have to say the 03-04 Mustang Cobra is one hell of a deal for the amount of power and potential you get. 5-600hp is easily obtainable and relatively cheap.

Yeah Terminator FTW!!! but these new ones are soooo sweet :drool:

Thanks wade  i'll let him know. I think I will be able to convice him to do some performance stuff to his truck. He says he wants to leave it stock but, i think once he gets the bug it might be a different story haha.

As for the Mustang GT, I'm expecting no chance at all lol but I also know that he doesn't race too often, and doesn't have a lot of experiance doing it either..
But what I'm really shooting for is a 14.9. I think its possible if I get rid of some weight, or at least I hope so lol

If this was done in your cougar, then I say :bs:

If this was done in your CSVT, the I'd say you'd either have to have quite a bit of modding or the Mustang GT driver sucked at driving or had an automatic transmission. Or, you are talking about the older GT's.

The older GTs are slow. And no offense, but racing an NA V6 Mustang and winning is like saying you beat up a kid , but he was in a wheelchair.
