Def not my taste. But if you like it thats all that matters. I'd do something with the four butons at the top (defrost/fake alarm), the black seems to stick out. Maybe silver or something would look nice

yeah i thought about that after i sat back and looked at it.... if i do anything i probably will go silver

i think it'd look a bit better if you did the piece that goes around the gauge cluster though

Someone here has an avatar of his interior all greened out. Might wanna copy that and go all the way.

the part that goes over it?? i was gonna but i think it'd prolly turn out bad cause of the texture of it.. its got little dips or pyramid shapes on it..

oh, well i was actually talking to contrapaul
if i'm correct, the 01-02's have the texture while 99-00 is flat. Thats why i don't plan on painting my dash until i can sand it and do it all right the first time, which i have WAY more things to do to my car first before i do that, so i may never paint it

99/00 do have texture. And Honzo, sit in my car and you'll like my stuff. The goal is to accent the red, not to overkill it.

hahaha calm down calm down
i understand, i just feel it doesn't look entirely complete, but that could just be me. I think certain pieces need paint and some don't, but whatever. And maybe i'll take you up on that offer, will you be at CF'08?

The neon green looks gross, IMHO, you did a good job on the painting, but that color has got to be hard on the eyes after driving in the day for a while. I'm gonna do the same on mine, only I'm going to match it to the factory dark green metallic, any pointers on getting it off w/o breaking it, and getting it back on w/o scratching the paint?

I kind of like it

I dont think its any worse on the eyes then any other bright color like yellow or red.

It must be hard to believe will all the people here who express how much they dislike it but I have gotten a lot of compliments over the years with mine. Its usually followed with a question of "why green" but if you paint it right and dont take short cuts it will look good.... and there will be people who like it

Yeah, my g/f wants to go pink on a select few parts, and I know that that is about as bright as you get. Any pointers for getting the dash parts in/out?

the best thing i can tell you about gettin the parts out is TAKE YOUR TIME!! there are two little tabs on the bottom of the piece where the AC knobs ore that the screws go through (these are now broken off of mine) and also on that piece its easierto tilt the steering wheel all the way down when taking it out.

as for not dinging it up let it dry for a long time, just dont rush things trying to get them back in to see how it will look.. i did that and there are a couple little dings here and there now that ill have to redo.. and especially if you are gonna clear coat the pieces (recommended) i'd let them dry overnight because there again, i have a fingerprint in one of the pieces just from holding it and the clear coat wasn't completely dry.

Not sure if I missed it but what did you use for paint? I'd say use the Krylon Fusion thats made for plastic and wont chip. I used it on my A pillars and its awesome, I only waited an hour before installing them and nothing really happened to the paint, but now that its completely set I can scrape at it with my finger nail and it doesnt even leave a mark. The stuff is amazing, doesnt need a clear coat, and is available in a ton of colors.

thats what i wanted but i couldn't find the color green i wanted..

now i dont even remember what brand it was.. it said it was made for plastic though thats the only reason i didn't wait to put it all back in and yeah.. it needs to be redone.. the spots that are messed up aren't that bad.. but it bugs the crap outta me..

As redneck as I feel saying this...go to walmart. They have every imaginable color, atleast the one I go to does. Autozone also has most of the colors.

haha, honestly thats the first place i looked because i knew they had the krylon fusion paint.. but they didn't have it either.. i went to Lowes, Home Depot, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, and O'Reilly.. none of them had it.. I guess here in Auburn the only paint they think people need is orange and blue

I originally painted the parts in my gf's sunfire a bright pink... she got sick of it pretty quick.... and I ended up redoing everything red.... her car is black by the way.

my gf has the same car.. her's is white though.

and now my painting antics have inspired the idea that "i should do hers!"

and of course she wants pink and i told her she would get sick of it. so now i have some proof that i can show her that she will! thanks! lol

Are you like 12? Or do you go on missions to kill threads? :gtfo:

Yeah, I like green, (hehe), but not the neon. I'm gonna get the OEM metallic green and have it CC'ed. How much do the stealerships charge for factory paint, or do they? I can find the touch-up cans but they are really small, or they are the paint-pens.
