... the Cougar is finally paid off!! It's such a good feeling to know that I own the car 100% now... even if it's not going to be for long. Some time during the spring or summer I'll most likely be saying goodbye to the ole girl and jumping into another car payment. I'm just not absolutely sure what I want yet. Anyway, figured I'd share my good news!

I actually thought this thread was going to be about you getting rid of the Cougar before I clicked it.

Well, for the cars that I'm looking at, I'm def going to need the money from the trade/sale of the Cougar in order to afford the monthly payments. Besides, I don't have the room or the need for a second car.

lol! I did that. I bought the Subaru the same day I paid off my old car (Maxima). Can't really recommend it. :)

Actually, the Subaru Legacy is one of the few cars on the top of my list. I just need to schedule a test drive one of these days. You still loving the car?

Same here.
Why not keep it for a couple years and save some money? Put the money aside that you would be paying for a car payment. Then in a couple years you will have a bigger down payment and a smaller monthly payment.;)

Yup :) Celebrated 2-month anniversary and 6200 miles the other day.
Wait until MY2009 though when they get Harman-Kardon sound. I am regretting it :flushed: Even with the factory subwoofer the sound is all wrong.
But the car is wonderful otherwise!

Congrats! I'm technically paying the money back to myself for my Cougar. $50 a week... which goes back into my account? Weird?
I remember when I was working at Starbucks/Borders my fat **** boss one day starts *****ing because she drives a Plymouth Duster. I made a joking comment about my car and she goes "Your Cougar? That's a nice car! Course, not everyone has mommy and daddy to get them a nice sports car!"
 "I turned to her and went... no, that's what we call working a real job since 9th grade and then doing farm-hand since 6th. Sorry your stuck with your piece of ****." I quit a few weeks later, *****!
Anyways, lemme suppress those thoughts again! Congrats on finishing your car payments! I've actually decided, when this car goes on me, which hopefully won't be soon, I'm buying another one.
