If you don't want to do it, me and Royce will do it in the street for $20.

Id almost be willing to have you do it but it needs to be exchanged out here in Buckeye since it had less then a mile on it when it went. Thats why its back at the shop to be checked if they forgot to tighten a grounding strap or something, and since they could only find a bad alt (output of 7 volts) they wont tow it back.
I was gonna drive it back on the battery but the stupid idiots left my headlights on so the battery was completely dead.
It actually wasn't hard to change at all. hardest part was finding a socket that was deep enough to get the top nut but shallow enough to fit between the alt and bulkhead

wasnt a problem with the wrenchit was the 2 sockets I had, they were either to shallow where the stud stuck through the socket before i hit the nut or were to deep to fit a wrench on it.
but i have been looking at getting one.
Should i have continuity between the positive and neg battery cables.. logic tells me no but cougars are a strange breed

damn wish you told me sooner.
I got it home this afternoon put another alt in and dead immediately. So now its off to Ford so they can look and determine if it was something caused by the accident or something the body shop did wrong. hopefully it is so I don't have to pay for it.

Did you check the fuses, especially the big Megafuse?

No I didn't... I'd actually have to say don't even know where the megafuse is, but if its in the box by the battery I know that whole thing got sprayed with coolant in the accident.
Ahh these new fangled contraptions give me one of my old 72 Novas anyday
