Ok, so me and a friend of mine were bored sunday and we decided to put some lights in my car.... Ok, it was planned, no big deal. Here are some pictures of the debatchery that followed.

-Note, it's my friend in the pictures, not me-

Center console partly removed getting some custom wiring done to make the wires just a little longer

The light we used.... Cold Cathode light, bought from Memory Express here in Calgary

The Switch. Don't worry, it will be moved later, but it took us 6 hours to get all this done, and we just wanted to make sure it worked before doing any custom switches.

What the Lights look like while lit... notice that green goes towards the outside of the car

Sort of the whole picture.

So yeah. Thats what I did on the weekend. Wired the lights into the cigar lighter, lights are "velcroed" in. All in all, cost me about 6 hours (first time, took a while to get trim off and tripes to Circuit City for supplies) and about 40$.

Woot, Halos next? I think so.

That doesnt look too bad. Glad the bulb is not showing. Only thing I would change would be to get 1 solid color not 2 different colors and those crazy looking floor mat covers too much going on with them! Otherwise good job

Yeah, the bulb was the first concern, because i know that if you can see it, then it looks mildly lame. I was thinking about the solid color too, but they had this blue/green light when i was picking them up, and we pluged it in and it looked cool. I think that color is going to transfer outside into green halos and a blue interior led set up... when i get time/money.

And as for the floor mats, we found that since they reflect better then the carpet, it looked better. And yes, i know they are crazy looking, but they were "performance" floor mats, so I figure they add about 10 hp. :cover:

Thanks for the comment though.

If you really want them to reflect and look decent try some diamond plate floor mats. I know they reflect a lot of the light and make under dash lights look pretty dang good.

Yeah, that's why ford offers ambient lighting in their 2008 models. :gtfo:

lol looks nice
i did that one night alone at 1 am and took me 2 hours for both side
overall nice though, try wrapping some tin foil around the other side of them, even though the glow is nice, you'll be surprised how much of a difference you will see. Because half the light is shining up into nowhere, that foil will reflect that back to the floor. I saw my brightness DOUBLE from this

Do they?:cover:

ND4SPD: Yeah, i saw them and was a little skeptical at first, but I got them plugged into test them out and it looked pretty good. Should go with the Green Halos i'm thinking of putting in, and the blue LED mod for inside... I think?

Honzo, I replied to your post in the other thread.

Thanks for the comments guys,

Lucas

haha I think it looks like. I'd be worried that the green would wash out the blue, but if you like it, that's really all that matters in the end.

I'm actually thinking about doing this project this weekend. Blue sound activated cathodes in my car. Why not? It's my car :)
