...with the local police!

The conversation started out with me complaining about how dog slow her wagon is (that I'm stuck with while my car is in the body shop). Now, I've known since I was able to drive that my dad raced when he was able to drive because he would tell me about the cars him & his brother owned.

But I mentioned something about how I'm sure she (my mom) sped as a teen and she started laughing saying she would race against the local police she was friends with in her parents car. I immediately told her that she's never allowed to complain about how I drive anymore.

Parents. Such hypocrites. Yet secretly cool as you get older.

Hahahahah that's epic. Imagine getting pulled over and being like, "nah man my mum raced with your dad it's aight". I find my parents to be more like friends than anything else...it's pretty sweet.

haha thats awesome. I find that too, parents kick ass once you get older. THen you realize how often they played dumb and turned the blind eye. My dad totally busted me drinking one time with my buddy (we were both 14) but i'm sure he's done it too, he just played dumb and we thought we got away..

Cool stuff. It is amazing how relationships between parents/kids change as the kid gets older. My parents are pretty damn cool people.

Lol. I tell my parents stuff I used to do and they're like "Really? Wow!". My dad used to own a 69 Camaro, so I know he raced. Mother had a Nova, which she said hauled butt.

I remember reading a road tale about a guy racing a cop he bumped into at the gas station. I think it was probetalk. It was a long time ago, but the cop won iirc. :)

My mom always claimed she never "raced". She drove a lemans convertible for awhile then got a GTO convetible which in her words had the big engine. She hung out with a bunch of people with Vettes and similiar. She always just says that she knew she was faster than many so she didn't race.

I have seen it a few times where she still has that wild streak. I rode with her in my uncles built up fox body stand a few times and when someone would rev at her she would have no problem revving back and doing a little heavy take off but not really opening the thing up.

That's hilarious.

There was a story (http://www.naioa.com/v2/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=377) over on the Impala forums of something similar: a guy rolls up to a stoplight in his Impala, and a cop in an Impala pulls up next to him. They nod at each other, the light turns green, and they race! Of course the cop wins.

A fun time for my great grandmother in her 80's was doing donuts in front of the police station when it snowed.
