Hey guys, just thought I would let you guys know that I was watching How It's Made today, and they were featuring engines. And the engines they were featuring just so happened to be the 3L Duratech.

They said 4 valves per cylinder, 2 cams, and, well, it just looked like the 3L.

so your basing that it was a 3.0l duratec on the number of cams and valves and your estimation of the displacement of the engine?

I love "How It's Made" - no silly drama, just the facts.

Can anyone tell me what else was on the episode? I'd like to record it but I'm having trouble finding the correct episode to record. The only one I can find on their site that mentions Ford is a segment on cars. The "Engine Blocks" program was done at Nemak Canada (could that be it?). There's also a segment on engines but it was done at GM.

I didn't realize this but they do US companies, too - I thought everything they covered was in Canada (since it is a Canadian show). I saw a couple that were done in Pennsylvania in my searches.

FYI: The "Engine Blocks" segment will be on again on 3/21, at 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., and 3/28 at 12:30 p.m.

If I remember correctly, it was Engines, Parking Meters, Stove ranges, and Slot Machines.

Thats IF I remember correctly. Discovery is pretty much the only channel I wach, so I've seen EVERY episode of how its made.

Whoops, nope, wrong one... Not even close actualy. It's episode #48, Car Engines/Flour/Recliners/Envelopes

Yeah, the only other part of that episode I watched this last time was the Lay-Z-Boy recliners, commenting that "They put too much stuffing in the leather" "I want that staple gun" and "I want that air hammer"

If you have some sort of On-Demand service it would also fall under the Discover Network's "The Science Channel".
