I read they how-to, but the part number listed doesn't show up on teamfordparts, is it just the part number for the pump or is it something else? here's the how-to link.

I believe the part number in the how-to is missing a digit at the end. I picked one up from eBay for $99 and while the history has deleted the auction I got it from I believe it was this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WALBRO-255LPH-FUEL-PUMP-Ford-Mustang-2-3L-5-0L-GT-Cobra_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33555QQihZ004QQit emZ140215129230QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW).

I hope that was the answer you were looking for.

To be honest I haven't installed the pump yet but I'm pretty sure the one I got from eBay is pretty much a plug and play. I think there are different connectors that are available for different cars but the older mustang versions have the same that is needed for the cougar.
