I went with the persision .63 AR turbo.
Yes it would be the stage 2 kit (275-300 whp kit). how ever I did get the upgraded bov and intercooler, and the 42# injectors. Also on my own I got a 80mm lightning maf and warlbro 255 l/hr fuel pump and I already have MSDS headers ... so basically its the stage 3 kit. Right now I have a 8psi spring but I think I want to swap it for a 3 psi spring to that I can have more range and controll from the Hallman Evolution RX mbc that I also got. I when with the upgraded items that you would get in the stage 3 kit as I knew I would end up with a 3L at some point, didn't think that I would do them back to back
Yes the pipes in the first pic are not coated. I purchased them off another ceger who bought then from NPG. I will have those coated in back before the kit is installed.
As for the Samco couplers I payed extra to have red couplers and that is what I got. The kit normally comes with blue couplers. I wanted red to match my OMP strut tower bar, red plug wires and soon the red Samco coolant hoses from the recent group buy. Figured blue wouldn't look good so I wanted red.

since I haven't updated this thread in while for those who do not visit CEG here is an update.
I had to replace the upper radiator hose twice. It blew out once and then sprun a leak, and then leaked again but some new clamps took care of that.
I installed my steel braided lines for the remote oil filter.
throught that I was having some clutch issues but it turns out that its normal for the Stage 3+. I also just installed my keyed shift tower and it shifts very smooth and the clutch grabs hard.
I do have some oil leaks to fix. the shift tower and axle seals are leaking. shift tower should be good now and I am replacing the axle seals and crank seal with Greg on Friday. I am also installing new axles too.
Prep for the turbo install is underway. Greg tried to install my walbro 225 lph fuel pump but since I didn't have the install kit that is on hold. Once that is done I will install the 80mm maf and 42# injectors and tune the car. Once I am happy that is working fine then the turbo will be installed.
So yesterday I put everything together ... its hard to follow because some of the pipe are not where they actually sit in the car and some of the couplers need to be cut down.
I also did some assembly tonight to see how everything fits together ...

its going to be another few weeks.
I need to get a maf adaptor and some couplers so I can use the 80mm maf I got. I want to upgrade the fuel system first before doing anything else. So that means I need to install the walbro fuel pump, 42# injectors and the 80mm maf and tune .... once that is working then I will go from there. There are also a few other things I need to order.
then Spring Zing is coming up so thats a number of days that I will not be working on it.
So with some luck the end of the month.

sorry been making most of my updates on CEG ...
what has been holding me up was a maf adaptor for the 80mm maf that I want to use. Since I don't have that I can't upgrade the fuel system and tune the car. Plan is to upgrade the fuel system and make sure everything is running correctly then go from there.
well today I got the maf adaptor and went to a local speed shop to order couplers to make it work. So with any luck this weekend I will be upgrading the fuel system. Only issue is I don't have an air filter that will fit under the hood that will for the maf adaptor. So I will either not be able to drive the car after these upgrades or I will have to make all the body cuts and try using the kit intake tube and filter.
So now that I have just about everything needed I will start forward on this. Goal is to finish and have everything workign correctly by the end of the month.
But I have gotten other work done this week. Since last friday I have installed my NPG front brake kit, LC-1 wide band controller and test fit the up-pipe and had greg put an O2 sensor bung on it. I also got header wrap today so I can go about getting the pipes ready for install.
So I am working on it, been out every night this week about 4:30 to 9 getting things done....

changed my direction back again. Haven't heard from the dynos that I emailed so I went forward ...
and I am getting closer http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/images/smilies/ubb/laugh.gif
I was able to upgrade the fuel system today and tune the car. Everything was straight forward. The injectors and spark plugs where easy to swap. I was able to get it all done since I figured out an intake last night so that I can drive the car. I took one of the intake pipes that actually comes after the MAF and used that to install the 80mm maf and I picked up a cheap APC air filter to use for a few days. The tune was very easy to upload to the PCM and the car did fire right up. For the forst few minutes it didn't want to idle, ie the idle was very low but keeping it reved up for a little took care of that and after alittle time it came right down to the correct idle. I ended up about 5 minutes short of a down pour to be able to actually drive the car and see how it is. The tune I used is my turbo tune. But since my understanding is its set up to add fuel based on the amount of metered air it will run fine either as N/A or boosted.

well here we go again  byw how did the work on Tony's car go today?
I feel like I got my ass kicked today ...
I started off with a new tune from Joey. Everything was running right so on to the turbo install.
I was loaned a hole saw from some other guy at my storage unit, he was working on his car and snapped the allen wrench off in his coil over adjustment. Luckly the magnet I had was small enough to get the peice out.
So I started in on cutting the whole for the intake pipe. It was pretty slow going and the batteries died for my drill pretty fast. So I run over to Home Depot and pick up a corded drill. I get back to it and the hole saw isn't working to well ... go figure it wasn't for metal. So I run over to Sears and got the one I needed for metal and was done within a few minutes. After all of that I got all of the hot side piping installed and was playing around with installing the turbo. Well it was when I tried installing that intake pipe I drilled the hole for that I realized that it had to go in fist before the down pipe. So back out everything came. I then went about cutting the slits and bending the metal back to get the pipe to sit furthur into the frame. I also got the whole slightly off center so I am working on straightening that out also. I then went to install the oil line and hit two snags there. First I cant easily get the plug out of the head and I didn't have a stubby wrench to get the cap off the oil drain. So off to sears again to get what I needed and here I am now, taking a break.
I might go back and do more tonight but I have to see. Thinking about taking it easy as I have been working at this since 9 am this morning.
more later

the correct tools ftw
I picked up a allen wrench socket set and some stubby wrenches and the plugs for the oil feed and drain came right off. I was able to reinstall just about all of the hot piping and the turbo. The turbo will need to come back out so once it is clocked correctly the flanges are tightened down. Once that is completed the oil drain will be put together and installed to the turbo so that can go back in and I can start tightening all of the hot pipes. After that are the intake pipes and vacuum lines. Should be able to get it done tomorrow.

so yet again another long day getting the turbo installed and up and running.
The morning started off with getting all of the hot side piping and turbo installed. By early afternoon that was completed. I then went about getting all of the charge pipes installed. Alot of the couplers needed to be cut down to make everything line up correctly. All in all that wasn't that bad to do. I did however cut the one to the inlet of the turbo to short. This brings the maf enterence up to high so I wasn't able to install the intake pipe and air filter. On start up the car idles very nicely. After pulling it tends to want to die but alittle gas helps that. With the 3 psi spring the boost comes right up to 3psi and sits there, meaning that everything is working as it should. the bov isn't that loud but in the storage unit I can only go fast. I think it isn't that loud because of the low boost. The first time I was able to shift to second on the power an exhaust leak developed. With Rogers help we quickly determined its the first exhaust joint after the down pipe. So tomorrow I will have to go through all of the exhaust joints and make sure everything is tight. I will also be ordering a new coupler tomorrow so that I can install the intake correctly.
The boost comes on slightly before the secondaries open I believe. The power is seemless. Rolling into the pedal just makes power and the turbo spins up really fast. The exhaust leak make it sound so bad ass, but that will get fixed.
Pic from around noon time where I had all the hot side piping installed and tightened down.

So it doesn't seem like the install was that bad?
A couple other question....
What clutch/flywheel do you have? Nevermind...saw it's a 3+ from your sig.
Are you still on Eibachs? Foresee any problems with the downpipe clearance?
How did you relocate the battery? Did you use a kit?
I'm sure I'll have more......

correct, I have the spec stage 3+ with a stock SVT flywheel.
yes I am still on the eibachs. I don't think there will be to much of an issue with the up-pipe or down pipe clearence. I beleive the mirko will still be lower and the tips I have gone over speed bumps that the mirko cleared I scrapped the muffler under the center of the car since it hangs alittle low.
I picked up Skunkworks battery relocation kit last year from a group buy. I did end up replacing the battery terminals. I also learned that the distribution block I had was to large but I already had another. Since I had a Optima Redtop already I got a billet battery tray for it.
overall the kit wasn't to bad to install. I made a few mistakes along the way that are now going to cost me some time to redo them. The wastegate was a big pita. And actually that is where I have an issue. I didn't tighten the wastegate down enough and the first time I hit full boost I blew the gasket out on the up-pipe side. so now I am leaking metered air at idle causing the car to stall and run lean. but off idle it runs fine, just loud. I also tapped the block for the oil drain. This now puts the drain hose right behind the front header and its pretty close. I do however have a 2k degree thermal sleeve on the drain line to protect it. I think that I will just put the nipple straight into the block and run the oil line infront of the header, still in the thermal sleeve to the block.
It definately has completely changed the car. acceleration is very quick now, scary fast as one put it

well I got the exhaust leak at the wastegate fixed today. I can really hear the bov now after hitting boost. Need to mount up the powersteering cooler better and install the intake tube with air filter along with a replacement coupler for the one I cut to short.
SO hopefully by this weekend its 100%

well tonight I was finally able to install the intake tube and air filter. I had to trim alittle bit more from the fender area to fit the tube but all worked out. After that I was going to mount up the power steering cooler but I found that the bolts I bought which I thought where the same where not. So I just left it how I had it. After that I drove around the storage area. There was no irratic idle as I had before. Some of the drive way area had just been re-tared. I easily left 10 to 15 foot strips in a few places without trying buy just accelerating by rolling into the pedal. After that I went for a road test. The car performed really well. I just did the loop around the block a few times. The car pulled nicely and was well manored. I put the bumper on for a test fit and found the filter contacts the fog lamp. So I think i will cut the intake tube about an inch shorter to make it clear. It also looks like it maybe to far out to install the bumper so I might have to modify the fender openning some more to get the filter to tuck in more. Oh well just more to figure out tomorrow. But at least the kit is installed completely and works http://www.fordcontour.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

drove the car for over an hour and it was very quiet. In fact it was to quiet, there was no pressence like there was before. Well after the hour or so an exhaust leak developed again. I found out that the bolts for the waste gate came loose again. But I am not sure that is where the leak is from. All I know is that if I look straight up at all the pipe from under the car the exhaust is coming straight down. So I think I will be pulling the turbo and wastegate again tomorrow to re-seal everything. Car sounds pretty good, the exhaust was to quiet before the leak.
anyway ....

update for those insterested.
been working out some small problems. When I turn it up to 8psi the dpfe sensor hoses blow off. I think that the cat is creating extra back pressure. SO I have a test pipe coming.
There was also an issue with bank 1 running lean, so I melted a plastic dpfe sensor. I think that is all in order now. I resealed the buzuiki plates to the heads and tightened up the plug gaps so they are now close to 0.035".
Last night in the relatively cooler air, compared to the weekend, the car pull really hard. both 3 psi and 8 psi just went like hell and the wheels wanted to break free. I also data logged and determine that the A/F goes to a nice 11.8~12.2 at wot. This is a little rich but it isn't bad being on the safe side.
Greg also supports the discription of scare fast as I think I scares him when I turned it up to 8 psi and ripped on it
and I also got 1st place in my class at Carisle All Ford Nationals this past weekend.

was out data logging and checking out the A/F ratio again so I broke out the camera and got some sound clips. Battery then died on the camera so I didn't get much as of this time.
all clips where at 3 psi

Yeah, the car is wicked fast @ 8 psi...
You REALLY need new tires to try and keep the car in a straight line... That was the scariest part for me, because I don't like being in the passenger seat too often especially in a quick car... I' like being in control of the car, and when the SeVT was struggling to stay straight with oncoming traffic heading our way...

wow, I didn't think it was that bad. I do know it will follow rough road more now then it did before.
Tires are next on the list. Just working on nailing down the tune as of this time.

Surprisingly, I just discovered this thread. Must have been b/c you installed both a 3.0 and the turbo kit the same weekend I moved back to DC. I will be sure to read through your thread before I ask any questions. :flushed:
Brapple, looks like you and I have the same NPG setup with the same upgrades. We even both have the big brake kit. Would be interesting to compare dynos.

what where the svt dyno numbers?
172/154 iirc on a dynojet
which make s alot of sense to me as my 2.5L with SVT parts put down 174/169 on a mustang dyno.
when compaing the two the felt similar but I could tell my Se had more torque then the SVT.

working on it but I am getting the fear that the engine might have some bad rings as I am getting some sort of blow by because I get blue/black smoke after letting off the throttle from wot. it doesn't smoke at part throttle then being closed. Also part in fact that I couldn't pull on a 2.5L SVT. Now this could just be a PCV valve that isn't sealing or a turbo oil seal. will be installing oil seperators on the pcv and valve cover vents.
Also to support this is appears that one bank is 10 to 20% off the other running lean, on bank 1 I believe. This I believe is why my plastic dpfe sensor melted and it blows the hoses off at over 6 psi. Also the adaptive learning of the PCM seems to be learning the car out over time. On installing the tune the A/F comes right down to 11.8~12.2 under boost. But after a few drive it starts heading towards 13~14. If I run a tune that doesn't allow self learning the A/F will stay the same.
despite all of this the car is still pretty quick.

got the smoking issue figured out and fixed today. on suggestion I got a turbo coupe PCV valve which is basically a check valve. After that was installed no more smoke. What was happening was the crank case was getting pressurized because the stock PCV was not sealing under boost.
I also turned it up to 10 psi this afternoon ...
