Top Gear without a doubt!
Fifth gear just seems to lack decent charisma.
Top gear leaves you in stitches!*
*unless your present it, then you just get a coma!

Top Gear certainly appeals to the British sense of humour, although as others have said it deals
mainly with motors that most of us will never be able to afford.
5th Gear is a bit more basic.
They both have their merits, but on balance it would have to be "TOP GEAR"
it's more of a 'show' than 5th Gear

top gear has a lot more personality the the peeps of 5th gear. realistically though, they could be reviewing the same cars and i would still watch top gear. they just present theh info in a lot better way.

I've been a long time TopGear fan, and when I tried watching Fifth Gear.... I couldn't STAND it.

Seriously.....the only fifth gear segment I liked was when that chick test drove the Impreza STi and the Forester STi. She had some fun in that Forester. "Wonder if I can get it to slide like the Impreza?" - *pulls hand brake* - "AAAHHHHHHH!

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but that chick used to be a rally driver.;)
I prefer TG. It's pure entertainment.

Agreed. My girlfriend watches top gear too as she finds it hillarious. I love Clarksons humour.

I think some of the sheer daftness of some of the things they do makes the show, like trying to make boats out of cars, launching a mini down a ski slope, making a convertable people carrier, and Clarcksons total lack of finess in the workshop, chainsaws and big hammer man, my favourite show though was the trip through Botswana, brought back a lot of memories for me.

The convertible Espace episode made me want to give that a shot with my parents' old Ford Aerostar.
