View Full Version : valve cover-gasket replacement
I have loosened off all of the bolts for the valve cover but it doesn't want to lift off. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I need to pry it up and off? Also the bolts will not come out entirely but are loose, do they need to be pulled completely off?
any help would really be appreciated!!!!

I know on the 2.5, or the 3.0 that im currently working on :biggrin:, that i had to pry up the covers a little. Just dont pry it from somwhere that will damage the mating surfaces. The bolts most likely wont come all the way out because they have rubber seals attached to them, again, that is how they are on the 2.5

you should be able to pull the bolts all the way out. the seals are integrated into the gasket. if it wont come loose then you can try carefully prying on it. its probably just stuck but once you get one corner released it should come right off.
thanks guys, I eventually got it to come off by prying a little on each side. Was really tight though.
