I have a 1999 mtx lazer red cougar that i bought last april from a empire neco member. I bought the car for sort of a project car since it was my second cougar.

The Good: Just installed a rebuilt tranny with updated shift forks and tower, torsen lsd, fidanza flywheel, and svt clutch. All of this was installed by Aircougar. B&G springs were installed in september and the struts were replaced when i bought the car. Custom 2.5 y-pipe back exhaust, meaning it has a msds y-pipe, Hi-Flow cat, 2.5" SS piping. Half of the car was just painted in september also. It has buddy club 2 front bumper, x-1 fenders, custom 2 tone hood(Painted red on the sides and black down the middle, on top of the black there is a red pearl coat and a sliver flake on top of that, both of which aren't "over done". Also the trunk was shaved of the emblem and spoiler. The interior is a two tone black and red leather made by katskinz is what i was told. Also it has the SVT uim and tb.

The Bad: First off it has a rebuilt CT title, but when i bought it i didnt have any problems getting it registered. I didnt have to have it reinspected or anything like that. The car does have 115,xxx on it but haven't really had a problem or cared because this car was being built for a nice 3L, which i hope whoever buys it does. It will need new tires also for the spring. Theres a leak in the H-Vac controls on one of the lines but i have a new line to replace it just havnt had the time. Also the tranny that is in the car now is a 2001 so we had a problem with the shiftlinkage not letting the tranny go in reverse and once again haven't had time to fix it. I have only put 600-700 miles on the new equipment. Nothing else i can think of, but i will definitaly go over everything again with any intrested buyers. This is a great car and is ready for someone to drop a 3L in it.

Im looking to get 3900 for it with what it has. I have a system that i might sell with it, 2 12" Soloberic L7's with a Memphis std-1500 amp. I can also take off some parts to put back to stock if you want to start your own project LMK very flexible on how i sell it. Pics are available if you pm me your email address, feel free to ask for any specific pictures you may want. I am located in southwetern CT, and i would be willing to deliver it within a reasonable day trip. Thanks, Casey

I want to say this car is in good condition, and the reverse issue is most definitely related to the shifter cables not sitting correctly in the bracket on the transmission. Pretty easy fix, just Casey hasn't had the time to get under there and fix it...

Paint looks great, too!

Just talked to bill jenkins and found out that people been having the same problem i have by putting newer trannys in the 99-00. So ford just started selling the different shift cable endlink about a month ago so i just ordered them today and hopefully it'll be fixed this weekend.
