ok the way i remember the difference between desert and dessert is this: when you are stressed you tend to eat extra desserts. if you notice, desserts is stressed spelled backwards.

lol that's a good one. I always heard it as you like dessert more than you love the desert, so you want more S in your dessert.
Something like that.

I don't miss my old car. It was a hand me down from my parents - 89 Pontiac Bonneville. That car got handed down to my brothers and also my cousin for a while. Then my parents finally gifted it to a woman that was really poor. That frickin engine/transmission just wouldn't die, even though the body was crumbling around it.

I do miss my brother's Cougar though. He had an 86 XR-7 Turbo. It was fast and had a hot luxury look to it. He sold it to a friend of his.
I intended to buy it off his friend and fix it up, but then Ford was talking about the Cougar-S, so I held out for that. Got the C2 instead after the S didn't fall through.

Sorry to Hijack, but this reminded me of a section in PSU's daily newspaper. It's called "Would you rather..." and poses 2 questions.

One issue's question was "Would you rather be abandoned on an island, or in a deserted ghost town?" I swear they picked the dumbest people to answer. Here's a couple answers that people gave.

"Heat in the desert is crazy!"
"The town. I'm into that ghost stuff."
"The town. At least they would have stuff to cook the dessert with."

I miss all my old cars, but not the repairs.
- '95 Probe GT (the only car that got looks from non-enthusiasts)
- '98 Contour SE (first car, memories, etc)
- '00 Maxima SE (such a comfortable luxurious highway cruiser)

not here .... well at least for cars I have driven. My first car was a 92 Tempo, not a bad car but it didn't drive like I wanted .... I still have all the other cars I have driven.

other cars, my fathers 79 Capri RS. I really wanted a chance to drive that car but it was taken off the road in about 94~95 and sat rusting away. when it was sold it was to be for parts but the guy supposidly put it back on the road. It was unique in it had the 2.3L turbo 4 cylinder enigne with no powers steering as ordered new.

I had an '85 Buick Skylark - white with a red interior and a front bench seat that you could sink into.

All the ladies loved it cuz the bench front meant that there was nothing between the two of us :naughty:

I had a 96 grand am se that i was converting to a GT, had an aftermarket suspension, intake, exhaust, painted interior (i know, it was my ricer stage haha). Bought it with a blown motor and transmission that my dad and i replaced. It was really reliable, i sold it for 1000$ after i bought the cougar. I still see it driving around the city, I kind of wish i still had it for a daily driver.

I've had a bunch of cars...

1990 Plymouth Acclaim
1991 Geo Metro (3cyl manual) !!! Pegged out @ 68 MPH!!!
1985 Dodge Aries SE (2 door that I completely redid the interior on, and was SOOO comfortable to drive -- I miss that car!)
1993 Ford Escort 1.9L 5-speed
1989 Volkswagen Jetta gl 5-speed
1986 Honda Accord Lxi Hatchback

I put a lot of work into nearly all of those cars, except for the Metro...I wasn't able to fix it as the clutch blew, and couldn't afford the parts and labor when I was in college in Newport, RI... Thing was great to drive around the island though! $5.00 gas would last 10 days!!! and it had a shift light for down and up shifting, learned how to drive 5-speed with that car :)

I miss the 4 cylinder '88 Toyota Pickup I was supposed to get from my father. That thing was a blast to drive and had some balls (or at least it felt like it to a 16 year old) for a 4 cyl. I learned how to drive a stick on that. But I guess it all worked out in the end (F250  )

I think it's natural for car guys to miss all their cars. In order-

1)1984 Mustang 2.3, red, factory premium sound and amp(woohoo), removable sunroof, American Racing Hurricane rims. Mom's car, learned on this, but Auto.
2)1984 Olds Firenza, OHC, Hatchback. Was my sisters car, but it was the one I got to drive regular when I first got my license.
3)1978 Buick LeSabre Landau Coupe. My all time favorite. Buick Big block 350, 4 bbl Rochester carb. could eat 5.0's for lunch. Coupes weighed 3575, sedans and wagons over 4200. lol. Still have the chrome factory Rallye wheels with BFG's/
4) Tie- 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ. 305 4 bbl, turbo 350, moonroof. and 1980 Monte Carlo, 4.4 SBC with custom dual exhaust. Both were my brothers, drove the Monte with permit. Pontiac I drove with the Firenza a lot in high school.
5) 1980 Mustang 200 straight six. auto. Dad's, then I inherited it.
6) 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, 307 4 bbl, turbo 200. My first car in my name. Was given to me by my uncle. Should have kept it.
7) 1992 Ford Tempo GL. 2.3 HSC (HSC=low compression lol) awesome car overall though.
8)1998 Kia Sephia, 1.8 DOHC, MTX, no power steering, no AC, stereo delete. Put Pioneer Head unit and rear speakers, Kenwood fronts, and a Radio Shack twin 8" sub box with a 300w Pyramid amp and Crossover. All that stereo stuff still exists. Topped it out at 128 mph if the speedo was right. Awesome car for 8200 brand new.
9) 1989 Ford F150, 300 Stright six, 5 speed, 2wd. 180,000 miles and never blinked. Gringo and Greg can tell you about the swiss cheese frame though. lol.
10) Traded the Kia for the Coug brand new with 85,000 miles. (should have kept both)
11)1991 Escort GT, MTX. Received the Kia Stereo. most of it. Still around. Brother in law has it. Might buy it back.
12)1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ. 4.0L, 5 speed. 18's for summer play, 29" knobby mud and snows for winter and good play. Also received the Kia Head unit after the Escort.
13) sold the jeep to my ex who was screwing dudes from work in it when we were together, bought the Mazda Ranger off of my mom.
