Meet Idea for May...

I was just checking and see that the Blue Angles will be doing flight demonstations over Annapolis on May 20 and 21 for the Naval Acadamy's Commissioning Week at around 2pm. I think this could be something cool to see, we could all meet at the harbor pier and could hit Phillips for lunch before the show. If interested I can contact them for group pricing and a reservation but would need to know how many would be coming! Then after the air show we could do a group drive somewhere for the evening, movie or whatever any one else can think of.

Love the Blue Angels, but have you ever tried to get down there during the show? :crazy:

I used to work there and Commissioning Week can be insane with traffic! Going downtown is not an easy thing to do, especially during the show. Every restaurant in the area is packed too.

If you want to go, the easiest thing to do is park at the stadium and take the bus that runs into the Academy and watch on the lawn there. It's really nice to watch on a boat in the harbor too. :biggrin:
May 20 is Tuesday, that's the day that they arrive and practice, there's no "formal" show. May 21 is Wednesday and the show is usually around 2:00, bridges (450, Eastport) are closed starting at noon.

I like the idea, but there are definitely some considerations before trying to plan it all out!! There's nothing else like them though. I have some great pictures from last year. :)

That sounds good to me, park at the stadium and take the shuttle. I can call now and make a resevation.... but I would need to know how many, I'd be calling them as a tour operator also, and not to mention phillips being a buffet it won't be as bad! It's up to you all though!! I'll give it a few days here to see about how many would be willing to come, so give me a count.
