If all goes well tomorrow, i will be parting with my cougar. for an 06' mazdaspeed 6. I'll let you guys know how it goes, and will still try to be at most the meets and keep up with you guys. You guys are really a cool group of people, especially my boy, GREG!. He has helped me with my car so many times, hopefully the HMS tranny was enough to pay him back. Well maybe he owes me a little, but it will be worth seeing it put to good use.
I'm sad, and happy all at the same time.

Greg it's not tickets I will ever worry about, it's repair bills for blowing sh!t up. I will try and take it easy on this one. I dumped so much money into the cougar.

Are you getting a warranty with the new car?

Hey man, Have fun with the Speed 6! I've been looking for a used 07 Grand Touring model with low miles for a while now, but there's not one within hundreds of miles from me. I guess I would probably settle for an 06 if it had under 10,000 miles. Oh well, I'm caught up in the 08 Accord Coupe V6 6MT now anyway.

lol maybe I'll let you take over my lease payments on my MS6...
Some days we think we should get rid of it. It's too pretty for the ugly weather we put it through. :flushed:
friggin AWESOME car though. <3

oh it is nice. picked it up today, it's in awesome shape. only has 18000 miles on it. got it for 21k and they gave me 4200 for my cougar. so i financed less than 18k. car accelerates like a bat out of hell, but the clutch is really high. it will take some getting use to. it's a gt model, w/ roof, and rearview mirror. overall i'm really happy to get out of my cougar. it was falling apart.

I will post picks of my cougar on the forums soon, with a do not buy tag. It only has 57k miles but i beat the hell out of it. I don't want to see someone on here get screwed in a deal for my car.

was that the black XR from Bertera in 2002? Cloth interior, 5 speed, no moonroof, single cd cassette?
And $4200 is all they are giving for cars with $9000 NADA retail huh? I hate cars. lol.

You will have a blast with that car!
Josh, have you looked into the Speed3's? If looking for a Speed6 is on your list of possible cars, definately at least test drive a 3 also, if only for fun.

I did look into the MazdaSpeed 3's for a while. They're an awesome little car, but not right for me. My mother bought a regular 3 hatch and I found it to be much too small and narrow inside. I have to drive with the seat all the way back and the steering wheel all the way foward and even then, I still feel somewhat cramped. Even my Cougar feels very spacious after driving the 3.

It also wouldn't hurt to look into the TSB's on the 06's. There are also a number of early 06's that have a TSB on the clutch which some dealers will install an entire new clutch and clutch assembly to fix how high it engages.

it was the cougar at bertera, but if nada has a cougar list at $9k there on crack. try edmunds.com, most realistic car pricing. i got more than my car was worth. it needed tons of work. Cougars are worthless, money wise. I love them, but they are fords, no matter what you do. Which means there worthless. thanx for mazda sites.

Just out of curiousity, did bertera tell you that car got broken into on the lot? The shift knob taken, and the hood scoop was ripped off. don't know of what else. I had to drive that one because the red XR they had was sitting in the side lot, back seat and gas tank out, because that pillaged the fuel pump out of it for a customer car, and waited for the new one to come in and put the red one back together. Needless to say I bought mine elsewhere.
I also have pictures of it from when I drove it. Both of them. lol.

of course they never told me any of that, but if you have pics of what she originally looked like can you email them to me. nighteagle006@yahoo.com.

I definately have the picture(s). It appears they didn't get scanned in, just the red XR with the V9 logo that they had in the showroom until they pillaged the fuel pump out of it.
It'll probably take some time, but I'll scan them in soon. If we end up at Greg's some day soon I can bring the real pic too.
