hey guys, I have never even realized how big the Cougar community is until i found this forum.. I have to be honest im stunned... =D
well a lil about me (if anyone actually cares) im 19, originally from Lithuania, now living in NJ, I go to college and that leaves me with no spare money for the car whatsoever, since I have to pay for college myself (im thinking about just taking the next semester off).. but anyway....
about the car (i guess this ouwld be the more interesting part), I got a green '99 Mercury Cougar v6 automatic. My friends dad owns an auto shop, which means that my friend gets to work on his car almost every weekend (with me helping him ofcourse). so one day this Cougar was brought in and they didnt know what to do with it. It was almost my birthday so the guys at the shop decided to just give it to me if I agreed to work on it, because the lady that owned it b4 me was smart enough to somehow run into a laundromat. No major damage, bumper with a few cracks and radiators needed replacement.
now theres only one problem left - the transmission. Check engine light is always on and shows a transmission problem. sometimes the car jumps really badly when switching gears lower to higher. however its been already like 5-6,000 miles like this and it doesnt seem to be getting any worse (thank god).
anyway, since the car is still running, I'm still working on it, and my newest project on it is to repaint the rear, roof, and the hood black. Just repainted the spoiler (wing) a few days ago and i think it looks awesome. made a photoshop pic of how it should pretty much look like once its done:

yep thanks for reading my boring intro. i love my car but once the transmission completely fails u never know maybe ill just start giving away parts on here lol... i dont think ill b able to afford new transmission... hopefully it still runs for another 6000 miles lol.. wish me luck =))))
