Just saying hello to all of the Maryland Cougar owners. Came across this site while researching a bad starter issue.:banghead: Anyway nice to know that there are other Cougar owners around Baltimore

Welcome to the boards.
Sorry to hear it was an issue that led you to us, but hopefully you'll keep visiting after everything is fixed.
What part of Baltimore do you live in?

I live in Randallstown. I did a search and came across several threads about the starters grinding. Looks like a new starter install is the future for me, if it ever stops snowing.

You're not too far away from most of us. :) Henry is in Woodlawn, and Nia & Dave are in Canton.
It stopped snowing, but you've only got about a 24 hour reprieve unfortunately.
Good luck getting the starter fixed. Let us know how it goes, or if you need any help.

Oh come on, I've done all of my alternator replacements in 40 or less degree weather, and once in light rain. The starter can't be that bad

Oh and welcome!

I just had to replace my starter on my 2000 last month and I'll be getting my 99 back in a few days..... put a new tranny it.
