Help. Can someone make a how to for disconnecting the throttle cable from the throttle body bracket? :cover: Probably isn't how-to worthy but it'll sure help me. As part of the SVT Lite upgrade I'll need new SVT throttle cables and cruise control cables according to the SVT Lite upgrade for dummies...The throttle cable runs from the bracket back and dissappears into the firewall. HOW AM I GOING TO REPLACE THIS? Here's my engine. Disregard ugly stain, last owner had a battery explode. I want to know how to disconnect it from the bracket without breaking anything.

Read the how-to again. You don't need both throttle and cruise control cables. If you have a manual trans, you just need the throttle cable, and if you have an auto, you just need the cruise.

As for removing the cable, here ya go:

Using a pair of needle-nose pliers pull that white plastic clip off. Manually rotate the throttle body linkage around, and you'll see how the end of the throttle body cable disconnects from the linkage...It just pops off. When you have that off, you can go inside the car and the pedal should be pretty freely moving. There will be a rubber stop you'll need to pull out, then the cable will come out a slit in the top of the pedal assembly. After that you just need to pull it through the firewall, then install the new cable.

Good luck.

Good luck. Is it possible to flood ur engine while doing this? :cover: Sorry for asking all these little questions, but if I don't ask I'll never know.

Maybe if you had a carburetor...

But not with a fuel-injected engine that's not running.
