Has anyone who has the V-tech headlight and taillight covers had any problems with the police? The cops are anal around here and I wonder if they would freak over a covered reflector? Thanks

The taillight covers are definately legal. Take a look at the taillights on an Impala next time you see you. They're all tinted out except for the two red circles! As far as I can tell, they don't have any rear reflectors.
The headlight covers may be a different issue.

I got stopped by a cop the other day for driving 13mph (in a 10 mph zone)on the beach.. He didn't mention anything about my headlight/tailight covers and he was a total a$$ so I'm sure he would have if they were illegal. He even gave me crap about my license tag cover because it is lightly tinted...he said it was illegal...I don't care, I'm gonna leave it on anyway.

It is technically illegal (in MN), so I worry if if I've had a few drinks....
The reflectors are covered so anyone could solve the problem by cutting holes in the covers to allow the reflectors to shine through...I guess..
However, they are like the lowest "equipment violation" on the totem pole so most cops don't bother to notice unless they really have a problem with the way you're driving.....i/expressions/smile.gif

dont the new nissan maximas have a similar cover on their taillights? they are black and only the bubbles are visible, there is no reflective surface, and i believe they come from the factory like that

OK my uncle is a cop his friends are cop my frieds fathers are cops and i have a fried as a cop and one state trooper that is a cop ALL IN NJ
They all told me what was Illegal on my car none of them mentioned the tailight covers because it looks as if there is some reflectiveness to them i even pointed out that they are covers and the reflectors are coverd. So most cops wont know but if u get a tru book worm a$$hole then u can get a ticket. There are members who have gotten tickets. And they are illegal.
Brian where did u go????????????????????????????
