Tranny Blew!!!

My friend was driving down the threw way and blew his tranny today. Had to have it flatbedded because it was so low, and he he pretty far from home. That sucks. We also know another kid who had a cougar that blew his twice. This one was a MTX, but the kid who blew his twice was a ATX. Granted, they both drive hard, but my friend with the mtx is a real good driver. Is this common?

The ATX guy, is he doing things like a neutral drop into gear to get a better start? that'll kill a tranny pretty quick.
