Hi indymadkat.:wave: Can't give any hints on fixing, since it is hard to see how badly it is "cracked", over the Internet. Due to a lack of information, we don't even know which particular piece you are talking about.

Maybe your best bet would be to replace it. You have several options (in order of probable cost, least expensive first):
1 - See if a local Salvage Yard has the piece you need.
2 - You can post in the "Want to Buy" forum (and also look in the "For Sale" forum) to see if anyone has one they would like to sell.
3 - You can order it from Team Ford Parts Online (http://www.teamfordparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214270).
4 - You can order it from your local Lincoln/Mercury Dealer.
