OK, so when it rains, it pours. Looks like I've got parking brake cable issues on the Cougar now. It was too warm for it to be frozen, so I think it's just rusted, dirty, etc. I jacked up the rear, and at least the rear driver's side wheel rubs the pad just a hair - you can hear it scrape and it quickly stops the wheel. And the driver side is missing the helper spring as well.

Is it hard to disconnect them, so it won't rub till I can get new cables?

Any suggestions?

::sigh::

Easy to disconnect. You just get a pair of pliers and yank the stud on the end of the cable OUT of the caliper arm where it sits.

This will disable the parking brake on BOTH wheels though.

I'll pull the wheel again, and see if I can disconnect it. Doesn't do me any good now anyway, since I'm afraid if I used it it'd stay stuck. That should hold me till I can get cables and time.
