teeth chewed off diff

i just cracked my trans apart and found out i chewed off the teeth on my diff is this a normal way to have the diff fail?

Get a Quaife or Torsen diff and there won't be a next time. :)

well i have a extra diff laying and I want to get the car back on the road this week so ill put that in till this summer when i do a 3l

You're lucky one of those pieces of broken gear didn't get shot through the transmission casing!

I second the quaife, if you went to the trouble of tearing it all down, might as well do it right the first time instead of going through all that teardown/buildup again. You might have more patience than me though :)
