since there are a number of newer NW guys around, thought I'd see where everyone is willing to drive to for a NW meet. Please vote for all options that work for you (not just your 1st pick).

Agh I should have read it before I chose (only picked one), I also chose Seattle for obvious reasons :)

I added your seattle vote to the total :)

Thanks!

Oh, and for Washington beaches, I would suggest Ocean Shores or Long Beach. Long Beach is my favorite.

I actually started with Long Beach , but since it's south, didn't know if that really was much different distance than the Oregon beaches.

Yeah, all the good beaches are pretty much in the south. I can't really think of any beaches that don't include rocks instead of sand, around the Sound.

I'm in.. of course depending on dates. I clicked Portland, but to me it does not matter. I would however like to see Oregon.

CougarTech
01-25-2008, 09:05 PM
Can someone give me a random address in Portland? I just want to enter it into mapquest to see approximate time of travel from here.

EDIT: Nvm, Portland Oregon worked just fine. I was surprised to see that the drive is only 5 and a half hours.

The Jamie
01-25-2008, 09:20 PM
with Google maps you don't have to enter a specific address. :)

Does Seattle seem kind of more central for everyone?? If not I'm good with Portland or w/e.

Goldie
01-25-2008, 10:47 PM
every NW meet I've been to has been in Seattle :(
good thing about Portland is my dad has parking for 10x as many cars as we could hope to get to come to a meet, a building large enough for everyone to hang out in plus able to pull a car or two inside - depending on what he has parked inside.
The last couple meets in seattle we did at parks where we rented a picnic shelter and huddled under it in the pouring rain because no one lived in the area that had room to accommodate visitors

The Jamie
01-26-2008, 02:38 AM
lol I barely have room to accomodate MY car at my apartment... which I need to keep watch on the parking lot and move my car as soon as I see an empty space or I'll get a nasty note from a neighbor who never uses their parking spot but gets angry when someone temporarily parks in their unused spot... which they don't pay for...

I'd like Seattle, because I wouldn't have to drive far (aka at all), but I think Mt St Helens would be more fun.

J Deuce
01-26-2008, 07:04 PM
so when exactly is this spring meeting?

CougarTech
01-29-2008, 03:57 PM
Good question... Take a vote anyone? May?

Goldie
01-29-2008, 04:02 PM
lets decide on what location works for everyone first, before committing to a date. There are a few other NW people who haven't voted (probably haven't noticed this thread yet), so we can give it another couple weeks.

I'm here! I voted Cougar, WA just because of the name and it's less to drive for me

Goldie
02-09-2008, 11:17 AM
so looks like our to choices are:
Seattle (someone from there will need to step up and offer to find a location and do some planning).
Portland (I can do that)
Cougar, WA (I can do that also, but we would have to wait till early summer for the area to re-open).

02-09-2008, 06:38 PM
I hope to be able to show up to one of these depending if i can get the day or so off of work and the distance.. if my car is driveable at that time. Goldie do you mind if i follow u up if it is out of state? So i dont get lost and all.. im kinda new to the area.

Goldie
02-10-2008, 02:02 PM
yeah - you of course could follow :)

last weekend of March work for people? either saturday or sunday?

The Jamie
02-10-2008, 05:14 PM
Sounds good to me.

I'd help with planning Seattle, although honestly I can't really think of any *GOOD* places to have a meet around here.

Loyalty4242
02-14-2008, 07:32 PM
It would have to be a sunday if i am going, i work till 3am on saturday nights,
thanks goldie i am terrible with directions.

And any sunday monday or tuesday works for me, but the next meet is in portland at goldies house.....you were just nominated.

wish i could make it but i am in the navy and transferring to cali soon

CougarTech
02-19-2008, 10:46 PM
Either of those days would work for me. It just all depends on location. Since it's a longer drive for me I'd have to leave at night the day before and then drive back the next night.

The Jamie
03-18-2008, 11:01 AM
So any updates? It's halfway through March :)

CougarTech
03-18-2008, 11:16 AM
If it's going to be the last weekend in March I won't be able to make it anymore.. Took to long to book off work, and I have another car meet on the 30th(Sunday)

Dang I'm out of town till April I may be able to come to the next meet thought its a quick drive from Boise to the coast well not really.

Goldie
03-29-2008, 12:33 PM
how about may 24th or 25th?

The Jamie
03-29-2008, 03:45 PM
hmm... I DO have a 4 day weekend because of Memorial Day, but I may be going back to eastern Montana to visit with the other half's family, so I can see what it looks like WITHOUT snow :) But those plans aren't even past the planning stage yet

CougarTech
04-01-2008, 07:13 PM
That may work for me. I may just be getting back from Vacation, but I should be able to make it then.

04-03-2008, 12:41 AM
When and where, Goldie?

Goldie
04-07-2008, 03:49 PM
so are people available that weekend (memorial day weekend)? who's willing to come to Portland? the last few meets have been in seattle, and since I likely would be the one to find a location/plan, I'd rather not have to drive up to seattle again (unless y'all want to include a saturday/sunday afternoon mariners game - not necessarily that weekend).

The Jamie
04-07-2008, 05:28 PM
I've decided to NOT go to Montana, so I'd love to come to Portland

Snowboarder
04-07-2008, 09:03 PM
I may potentially be up for that week! for me that's too far in advance to say for sure! and I'm still waiting on my springs to get finished (damn Jeff taking his sweet time... haha) I don't really feel the urge to cross the friendly border line with an airbag suspension setup as I can just see a hassle in both directions with a giant tank in my rear window! Let me know closer to the date, I'm not checking the chapter as often now, so PM me with more details later on about this Goldie! thanks!

Hi! My name is John. I have a 2000 Cougar.

Is this a club only type event or is anyone welcome?

if you are local & have a cougar, you are an instant member ;)

(for that matter, ya really don't have to have a cougar or be local)

Thought I would ask. I went to a Cascade Cougar Club meeting last year and found that they weren't very interested in the 1999+ Cougars.

I would be interested in attending a get-together on one of the Memorial Day weekend days.

I may be able to make it, if you don't mind me bringing the mustang. The CS5 Upgrade was put on hold. So I will have it that weekend.

The Jamie

So... we doin this? I'm actually taking 5 days off, and have nothing planned :D

Goldie
05-14-2008, 12:22 AM
if people are still able to make it, I'll be glad to host. If we don't have at least 4 people able to make it, lets postpone until summer when more might be able to come.

OlympiaWA

I would like to attend, but my wife is going in for surgery next week. Later this summer would work better for me.

The Jamie

I think I have the longest drive, its at a little over 7 hours, all the way across OR, I'm leaving sunday evening, then just grab a hotel on the way or a camp ground someplace if the weathers nice and then do the same thing back monday night. It will be worth it for sure though. I miss hanging out with Cougar people.

I'll be driving thru Boise on the way to/from CF in July  and the portland-salt lake drive I think is going to be the best ;) although, last fall I did drive out to Hermiston and back (about the 1/2 way point for you I think) and there are some pretty drab sections around central oregon.

Ugh I'm a possible scratch... my fuel pump died - and I'm probably going to be broke. I'd like to make it... so I'm going to see how much it's going to cost me and see if I can convince the bf to allow me to come down

Darkhorse145
05-21-2008, 11:06 PM
So if nobody else signs up that means it a scratch right? that sucks I was looking forward to heading over, but I can always go camping up in the mountains if this falls through.

Goldie
05-21-2008, 11:10 PM
I still have a couple car projects to work on - if you want to drive out, you are welcome to hang out and help me for the day
- sanding/polishing on my soon to be beautiful UIM
- drill hole and install my GMK CAI
- run power and audio cables for my amp/subs
- plan out my trunk fiberglass project
- finish fiberglassing my console
- open my headlights and nightshade the orange reflectors
