Hey guys well lets start with this is about the SVT uim. I know what an svt uim looks like. I went on car-parts.com cause i browse through there every now and then. I found one for an 1998 contour svt uim and called the place. I talked to the people and was confirmed it was the correct item i was looking for. So keeping that in mind can someone tell what the hell this goes to?

That is what they sent me and doesnt look like an svt uim to me. I just want to make sure i'm 100% correct on this before i call up grippin about it.

That's not for an SVT....a mustang maybe, but not a cougar....the SVT UIM for the cougar looks EXACTLY like the one on your car, only it's black. There is NO DIFFERENCE in the external appearance of the SVT UIM and stock UIM accept the powder coating.

That looks to me like a mustang or...well....I don't know.

ok...not a stang....but it's for a V8....

ok thats what i thought. Also i would like to appologize i thought I posted this in the 2.5L section but it seems through my tired eyes I messed up. Thanks guys I was pretty sure the uim looked the same just black instead. Thought maybe I got the wrong year or something but i was pretty sure the year was 98-2000 on those.

Not trying to sound stupid, but sho?

lol You would think a junk yard could tell the difference betweena taurus and a contour. espcially since the only reason they had it supposively was because the engine blew.

Hard telling from that angle.

Not at all. It's the back half of the SHO manifold. 100%.

lol now all you need is the rest of the 32v v8 sho motor

btw: no the SHO motor (v6 or v8) will not fit in the cougar

yeah well i think he will have to refund me even the invoice on the box says its a 1998 contour svt uim that fits 2.5L 6-155. So i dont think they will give me much trouble seeing thats not what that is.

yes i appreciate all the help guys. he will be faxing me over a shipping deal so i dont have to pay to ship it back and refunding me my money on Monday. After i called he realize it was a taures and he had made the mistake. oh well stuff happens. just sucks though cause i only had to pay 140 shipped for what we both thought was gonna be an svt uim. :(

Now my never ending search continues. Anyone know how much it would be to extrude my stock one? Or is it even possible to extrude it all the way through?

It's possible to send it in and get it extrude honed but I cant remember where, its some where on this site though. I also learned the hard way with the SVT UIM they sent me one from a stock Contour and told me it was SVT :banghead: argued with the guy for two weeks before he would return it. So just to warn you, don't trust those car-part guys ask them to look at it, and if it is not Black and doesn't say SVT on it then its not an SVT UIM and don't let them convice you otherwise, they have some part numbers mixed up.

I just kept my eyes open on the FS section on this site, they flow through here and there. NECO guys you can trust.
