Don't cut them cause a new set=new lower manifold. First remove the butterfly valves by taking out the two screws in each(easy) then if you look at each butterfly linkage that goes across there is a spot to fit a screwdriver in to remove the linkage. I don't remember exactly which of the three secondaries have the little opening but u just push down on the small clip in each section and pull it out. start left to right. I'll get some pictures if you need them after work.

why do you want to do that? Look up Trevor's (Fastcougar) thread about Mavro gato, he has a post with pics of removed secondaries and stuff.

You do NOT want to do that. Purchase a new IMRC unless you want your car to drive like $hit.

In case you're wondering why you shouldn't search for "removing secondaries."

Here's one thread. (http://www.newcougar.org/forums/2-5l-duratec-performance/42779-zip-tie-secondaires-open.html)

lol...your car will run like ass to the max. You will loose all low end power until the secondaries are suppose to be open, and even then it just don't feel right. It would feel like launching a brick wall lmao.

Unless you have some serious work done I don't think pinning the secondaries will do you any good, tuned or not. The only people here I've heard running no secondaries are running a 3L.

So... IMRC is what, like $30ish used? And to remap the ECU you'd need a tuner such as Xcal, and someone to tune it, Which would be what like $600 (Just taking a guess), and most likely, a lesser performing engine.

With that said, why do you want to remove your secondaries?
