Mufflers?

does anyone know what a good universal muffler is for the cougar? i was thinking either an n1 universal or an HKS Hi Power one. any tips will help.

NO FART CANS! Those muffler do not belong on anything without a turbo, and no cougar, with or without one. Just get a catback for the price of those mufflers...

go to you tube type in svt contour. and you'll find video/sound clip of this dude from contour forums with a mugan exhaust and it sounds sexy as hell. just remember all V6's sound the same after a certain rpm. from a maxima to a coug. if your concerned about idling sound up to about 3k and u want the american growl get the flows of magna's. if u prefer ricey get a coffee can or those cheapos from pep boys. if u want supra ish sound that'll sound nice and clean from idle to redline hks,megan. its not cheap but the air flow is perfect and the sound isn't honduh-ish

It will still sound ricey and very loud unless you add extra resonator(s) if you try and use a canister muffler. Removing the stock muffler and piping it with a resonated tip is loud, and gets annoying fast. Trust me.

To sound "supra-ish", it helps to have a 2JZ-GTE... which is an inline-6, and has a different tone than V6's.

your welcome dude... I sugest removing the reasonator also. it's pointless... m set up is magnaflow high flow cat 2.50 straight back with a hks... it's pretty nice I wish I had a sound clip maybe ill make one and put it on streetfire.net than ill pm you

cool that would be great. so do i have to replace anything to install the muffler? or does it just bolt on to the stock pipes?

A simple Thrush Magnum glasspack sounds great IMO.
