Hey guys I was on CEG forums and this guy 68fordman is trying to see who would be interested in a meet in Texas. Here is the original post TX Meet - CEG Forums (http://contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=22209). I really dont know much about organizing stuff like this but anyone that has before help organizing or sugguestions would be great. Also post if your interested in meeting. I think they have probably close to about 15 or so willing to attend.

well i'm in saginaw so as far as i'm concerned we all could just together and cook out. I dont really care if the contour guys are included they dont have anyone putting anything together anyways.

I wouldn't mind attending a meet even though I don't have a cougar anymore. Jst post when & where & will see. IMO Id try to Hold it up in Austin Since it is the State Cap. I know how hard it is to org a meet in such a large state. Ive attepted many times to get something together but the member count is to low to org one.

yeah it really seems most the people that are on here in our state dont even have their cougars anymore. its though cause I see cougars all the time here.

long story...

headin to work... and at each time i would come to idle... the car would steadily lose power to the point where it would about die... i managed to nurse it home by riding the gas... when the car cooled down... i went to check it. The car would start, rev up to 3k ROM and then just die over and over. Got on here, did some research, 'they' were saying to change the O2 sensors... i got 3 of them changed, and then i changed the ICAV (also stated in my 'research'... that got it to the point whereit would run, just idle up and down badly. since then i have changed the MAF (the idle would even out when disconnected) i had my TPS checked and it checked bad, so i changed that. Now, it still idles real rough, but not AS bad. Ive checked the hoses to see if i could find a hole or something... but i just might pull them and try to pressure test them. Im also thinking about changing my manifold gaskets (uim and lim). Since i will have it removed, im doin the plugs and wires (its been a while... ). But aside from that, im at a loss...

i made a post in Problems (Weird Idle Problem... Now (http://www.newcougar.org/forums/problems/121104-weird-idle-problem-now.html)) but nothing really new there.

Im beginning to think that since im not a 'Gold' or 'Platinum' member, i dont get the same help they would. I mean hell... someone asked if i had an Aftermarket Lightened Flywheel for my ATX.

Anyone here got ideas?

Well here are a few things i would check.

1. Sparc plugs

2. IMRC( Intake manifold runner control) you can get one from Bill Jenkins at teamfordparts.com.

3. fuel pump ( may be replaced for free if yours had the recall)

4. altenator (very common part to have problems)

So after replacing the spark plugs and UIM gasket... The car is running better. I still have an oil leak (im hoping) from what appears to be between where my oil pan meets my tranny housing. This weekend im tearing into that. God bless federal holidays. It also seems as though i may have a leak near my power steering resevoir. And if anyone knows of a 99/00 front bumper in decent condition (rio red would be a benefit) or any of the componants (fog lights, grill inserts, etc)... im in need of one...

We will see... so whats the word on the meet? Depending on my car, i might look into attending (depending on the distance).

This guy has a lot of stuff. eBay Motors: 1998-2002 Cougar grille (item 250214645273 end time Feb-16-08 19:28:05 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-2002-Cougar-grille_W0QQitemZ250214645273QQcmdZViewItem?hash=it em250214645273)

Cougarlove also has a grill but would need to find an emblem for it which i think the guy with the laser red has one.

If you need anything else man let me know i still have a bunch of stock stuff.

Also the meet i dont think will happen. I havent heard anymore on the CEG site and only like a couple of peeps are on here. Unless everyone just wants to get together in maybe the fort worth area seems to be pretty central for the peeps left on here except maybe Josh125XR.

he is actually one of two people i have asked (twice) and got no response from. I found them on teamfordparts for fairly cheap. My grill is actually fine. All my damage was from the lower grill inserts (foglights) down. and all on the driver side.

My inserts are actually already painted. She used to look pretty, now she looks like Mike Tyson took a bite out of her.
