Sports cougar

Question really quick..... My question is i went to G&S and they said i have to have a sports cougar for dual tips..... how do you tell a sport cougar other then like Cougar S..... or is it still possible that they don't know how to do exhaust for real and there is a way...

they probably mean a cougar with the factory "sports" package. That package included some upgraded 'performance' items, possibly a different exhaust setup making it an easier conversion to dual tips than the non sport package exhaust. :shrug:

I would expect any exhaust shop to be able to convert any model cougar over to dual though.

The Sport package Cougars come with siliver peddles, traction control, and rear disc brakes.

Not all sports came with those options.

I think the siliver peddle we only on the 01-02 cougs. 99-02 sport cougars all got the traction control and rear disc brakes.

A descent muffler shop can cut your exhaust system towards the back of your car where the pipe is last centred on the car. Then they can split the exhaust pipe and run 2 new pipes into 2 new mufflers in the factory location on the drivers side and on the passengers side there should already be a hanger if your car is a 99 or 00. I had this done to my 99 and it was just for cosmetics. If your looking for any performance gains, order a exhaust kit from trubendz.

same here. abs, trax control & the sunroof (maybe some others - but those are the biggies) were extras not included in the factory 'packages'

I have the sports package, with ABS, Rear Disc, Sunroof, door sill plates, but no traction control or pedals.

Silver pedals only came on certain 00 (1?)-02 models.

Silver peddles
Sunroof
Traction control
4 Wheel Disc Brakes
Abs
Larger front rotors (278mm)
16" polished Wheels
and Door sills

Not to mention the automatic trans.... :rofl:

like I mentioned earlier - those were not included in the packages - but additional. here is what was included in the sport and convenience packages.
all others would have a separate line with cost (like the cd changer that I 1/2 cut off).
