I will be moving back home at the end of march and with my newly learned knowledge of collision and refinishing work. So, if anyone needs body work or something that needs painting, that can wait untill the end of march, i will be more than willing to lend a helping hand.
I put alot of pride into my work so much so that my tools are bsically all snap-on and my paint guns are made by Sata. Although, the tools dont make the beholder any better, i can garantee your satisfaction with my work.
So, if you are interested just let me know and we can go from there.

hmmmm.
mike I could definitely use alittle assistance. I need to spray a few areas inside the car [I removed all the sound deadening]. Car is completely gutted and I can have it entirely prepped. I have a 17gal compressor but no paint gun [or the basic knowledge on how to use one].

absolutely. that is of course if you dont mind waitng untill the end of march/early april to have it done.
also, how big of an area is it? the reason i ask is that if you dont mind spraying sherwin williams paint i can currently get 40% off retail price, so i can pick up the paint before i come home and it will save you even more money.
sherwin williams has automotive paint?
boy, are you tellin me i could paint my house in Vista Blue Metallic?
you have any pix of your work?

yes they do have automotive paint and i guess it might be possible to paint your house Vista Blue Metallic with the right prep work.
as of right now i do not have any pics of my work. i will work on getting some over the next few weeks. its just difficult as WyoTech doesnt allow any electronics in the shop and are really strict about it. but i will see what i can do.

heather! stop wreaking our cars.
and ya, I got nothing but time on my hand. Does S-W make a silver frost? Anyways this photos old but I circled the areas that need spot painted... makes it look alot larger than it really is... I could care less if its looks good or not but I gotta get something on there.
I'm onto you, Terry the pornbringer....
I can see what you're trying to hide in that image.....

Are those areas giong to be covered or visable? S-W does make silver frost metallic.
If you are truely not bothered how great it looks i can suggest going with a the basecoat/clearcoat option. It consists of the primer, basecoat, clearcoat. From that picture i would guess 3 quarts of basecoat needed but if you can get a more detailed picture i can make a more accurate guess as i have honestly forgotten how much area there is in a gutted cougar.
I can probably try to get you a approximate cost of material by the end of next week. I dont think the price will be too high if i pick up the materials out here for you on my discount.

i honestly dont know. i havn't really thought about it yet. i guess it really depends on if your changing the color or keeping it the same as changing the color would require more work. i would probably say somethin like $500 for same color $750 for different color.

**** me, jesus christ I'm not even thinking here. Yes, I do need some refinishing work on my LS! Its not too much, but theres a bit of rust popping up on the trunk, and I also found some small spots on the roof after the last time I washed it. If you want pix or anything let me know.

If its just general surface rust coming through the paint thats no problem at all. I can do that no problem. It would just require sanding the rust down to bare metal, feather edging the paint, spray and blend. Could probably do that in half a day.

Rear quarter panel could use some work. HAs tons of scrapes on it like someone opened a door and just scraped it. Also how are you with dents?

Way better than when i started. I cannot do paintless dent removal. But when working a dent that is going to be re-sprayed im good. I can definitly help you out if you are interested
Edit: I read that over and it makes me sound like crap. haha. so ill say this...little to no body filler. I only use it on the smallest of low spots after pulling as they often make more work after pulling...meaning high spots

is your paint factory color? i started working with tri-stage paint today and although its relatively simple to spray apparently its not so simple to match. but i havnt had to match it yet. im sure i can do your bumper no problem but it may take a day or two to complete.

The body shop that I had paint my bumper and hood scoop, also did not match the color up right either, but im satisfied with it. The bumper has a bunch of rock chips all over it. Ive just been touching up here and there.
back when crispy's former cougar was still a cougar, she had to have a fender repainted several times before the color matched properly. them tri-coats are very tough!
