I think i read that the cat-back system adds some power...

well i saw a video of Borla cat-back on a 2000 zetec and it was T-like.
how can it help and add some power when logicaly the T slows the air flow...

does it really help ?

p.s. sorry for the grammar mistake in the title :)

I believe it is because it is larger tubing and it restricts the air flow less than stock. Some one correct me if I am wrong

well, if the engine is non-modified is there any need of larger tubing ?

It may make a small difference. You can only push out as much air as you can get in. That is why a lot of people upgrade the intake also because our stocks are ****.

what do you think about K&N's cold air intake kits ? is it worth the money ?

I would say no. Get the ebay "bomz" kit and put a K&N filter on. Total cost - like 75 dollars. K&N kit- like 230 dollars.

Ebay kits for the focus work as well. just not the true CAI setups. and they are like $30-$40

I've had one one my car for nearly a year and installed one on a friends car. I've had no issues with it, and I inspect it monthly. If I cared to milk out the miniscule amount of power a better filter would get I'd switch, but I have bigger plans than short term gains from a filter.

you will gain some hp from an intake, or exhaust, but you won't feel anything. if you combine them, you might feel a slight difference. but you are also working with a very small engine, so freeing up NA power is tough.

i have the duel exhaust, a short shifter, and a short ram intake and i beat a stock v6 by one car believe it or not, so i think it helps alittle!

buy a catback from trubendz.com and a shortram from zxtuner.com and call it a day.

You wont feel much at all but itll sound MUCH nicer.

Think of your engine as a giant air pump, the more air you can suck in the more air you will have to push out. If you make your engine able to push air out easier, it will be able to suck more air in. If your can suck in air easy and push it out then you win on both ends. (hope the made sence)

Turbos and S/C you blow air in the engine thus more power.
