Does anybody ever remove the clear lens from the gauge cluster bezel to install something like this ??
eBay Motors: Carbon Fiber Gauge Overlay Honda Civic Auto/ 5 Spd (item 8060288239 end time Jan-16-08 08:55:59 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Carbon-Fiber-Gauge-Overlay-Honda-Civic-Auto-5-Spd_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118QQcatego ryZ40017QQihZ005QQitemZ8060288239QQrdZ1QQsspagenam eZWD1V)
I've search and did not find any REAL how-to!!
Should I heat it like the headlight????
As there is ''bump'' on the actual black plastic I cannot just 'slide' the overlay.......:(
Any input people??

You probably won't have much luck, as you would have to cut the clear lense to remove it from the rest of the bezel. Most of the gauge overlays are able to be bent to get them in from the backside. I've had 2 with carbon fiber bezels that were just a pain to get in there right, just to have them peel after a few months

You don't have to cut it. You just have to take apart your dash. Takes a little time to get everything off, but eventually your entire gauge cluster will come out, then you can take off the clear piece.

I just finish (2 beer and 2 hour later) glueing my gauge overlay in my gauge bezel. I DID remove the lens cluster cause the overlay is solid brush aluminum.
With a heat gun, an olfa knife and 2 small strait screwdriver (and lot of patience) it was somehow easy to do!
I've try to post pics but I just don't know exactely how and I fail miserably doing so...........maybe with another beer.........:)

EDIT: I'm not too drunk afterall!!!

Dude you just put it throught the holes for the guages and stick it fast to the black part...There is not cutting needed for this...

Yea, taking apart your dash to get to the gauges was one of the easiest mods I did! I replaced mine with a C2 overlay, and love it :)

if it's the aluminm and cannot be bent then you might want to use a dremmel and cut the clear platic and the put it in then re glue it
