So did anybody give their cougar or mustang a gift this Christmas? Mine is getting a maintenance overhaul. Shocks, struts, cv joints, trunk struts and passenger door handle. Maybe new exhaust if the rest isn't too bad $$$ wise.

no, maintence on the atx, and the parts for it are coming off of the 3l, so its more of a hand me down situation.

I would like to get new ball joints too, but I'm scared how much they would cost. I think you have to get the whole control arm.

my dad gave me a digital tire pressure monitor... these things screw onto the valve stems, and send info to a display screen (in the car)
har har har har har I said....... (for those who are unaware - my car didn't make it to Cougarfest last year because I lost pressure in one of my tires a few weeks before, which caused it to go flat/shred, and led to a costly balljoint replacement) My dad has never let me forget it since

Where did he pick these up if you don't mind me asking. My girlfriends crazy over checking her tire pressure, this would be a good present.
I gave the car a bath. It does need some suspension work.

Finally got the K member installed on the mustang with new links, ends and a fatter sway bar. Not to mention I had a few wiring gremlins fixed.
Cougarwise..... I'm graciously waiting to hit the 200K mark and then she gets tore down top to bottom. I'm stuck around 190K since I changed jobs last April.

Some Intrax Springs, new fuel and air filters, switching over to synthetic, and changing the oil pan gasket. umm yeah I think thats it. I might do new struts as well but the current ones seem fine. I think I will ust do the springs and when the struts go, do thoes as well (and get new mounts etc. when the struts go)
Mine got a slot in the garage and a battery replacement, due to it draining the previous one in sitting for a little over a month. Battery was less than 7 months old as well.
