Ok, so I personally dont really trust ebay but I came across this and figured I would post this and get some opinions, as much as I want to turbo my cougar, its probably not realistically in my budget for at least a year. However I figured getting this on the forums might help out a few ppl concidering a kit.

90-02 COUGAR T3T4 AR50 CUSTOM TURBO CHARGER KIT - (eBay.ca item 120175500900 end time 22-Nov-07 18:50:25 EST) (http://cgi.ebay.ca/90-02-COUGAR-T3T4-AR50-CUSTOM-TURBO-CHARGER-KIT_W0QQitemZ120175500900QQihZ002QQcategoryZ36475Q QrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)

that price just seems way to low for a turbo kit, but its the first one I've seen thats advertised to fit on a 2.0 cougar. looks like it could use a few more things, the ad says that you need a custom header and downpipe. I dont see any injectors there either.

What do you all think of this?

No. The exact same kit came up a few days ago. The intercooler and piping may be fine, but the turbo will break, and I wouldn't trust most of the other components.

Seen this many times, They also have one for the 2.5. The turbo are not the best and will not last long. Big problem is tho is that they dont have headers so that is still needed, Prob hardest part to come across.

ya, looking more closely, it seems like it would take lots to make it work. and an unreliable turbo is not something i would want

no you dont. i have been down that road. also with the .63AR turbine you wont spool until 3500+ RPMs. I dont think the intercooler shown will fit without some serious modifications to the car either. also the couplers look like just cheap, basic, 1-ply couplers. you will blow them off (trust me on that one too)

honestly your looking at another $2500+ just to make it work (that includes your own time not a shops). its really not worth it.

you can either spend the $1000 (including shipping) on it and then spend lots of time and money trying to fab up the header and downpipe (not to mention figureing out how to route the intercooler pipes) only to have the bearings fail in the turbo a few months down the road, OR you can have me build you a turbo kit using a quality garrett turbo that will spool quickly and still give you lots of power (the only thing you have to do is install it, connect it to your current exhaust, and get it tuned) for ~$3500

There's no exhaust manifold or downpipe.
No Injectors, MAF, or chip/flasher.
The piping will not fit. It still has to be fabricated.
So, this is a universal kit which is incomplete and not specific to the Cougar at all!

Although, I have nothing agianst ebay turbos. Since, I had one from ssautochrome that worked great for 6k miles and was still working when I sold it.
