They're soo many front bumpers to choose from... just have fun with what you think would look really good. The front bumper gives me the most headach on this car so I'll be swapping it for something else in the future. I like the BC2 Front' and I know Matt did a chop of that one, but let's see some different ideas!!

Thanks!

Some pics to help out...

just have a quick question John...I'm wondering with the custom paint job wouldn't that be a pain to replace just the front bumper??

I'm thinking yes, but either way it needs to be replaced. The bumper was slightly damaged when I got it and since it's been on the road I've been scrapping... so what can you do

I've also thought about getting some round tubing and making like a front support bar (grill guard bumper style) for the lower portion (where the grey is) just to beef it up and integrate an aluminum splash shield that goes to the rear of the front subframe. Right now there is no lower support, just fiberglass with 4 bolts attaching it to fiberglass fenders DOH! :banghead:

how to keep it off the ground you ask?

bags.
they go up.
they go down.

but....you already knew that.

i say drive through some sand then make your own. kinda like how crispy came up with the idea for that one.....

someone has struts for sale for like $1500. I think it would be worth the money for the mod. Just my $.02

Probably the guy that bought them from me... I know those have been for sale for a long time, no one's bought them yet.

I really don't want to go back to air bags, I'd rather scrape the front bumper off then go that route again

i myself love that front bumper. if i had done any big mods on my cougar when i had it i would have done something like that.

I hear yeah about the front being too low. I loved the look of the extreme fromt, but you have to constantly worry about driving it. Even when you are being ultra careful you slip or misjudge for one second and bam you scrap. Before I decided to go back to the stock bumper with roush lips, I had considered modifying my extreme front so it was not so low, and also to add some sort of splitter/guard.

To try and discribe what I was thinking. If you kind of follow the lines in the bumper on the bottom section where you have it painted gunmetal I was going chop out the center portion(of just the gunmetal part). Then I was going to reattach/fiberglass the bottom most section that was left, which probably would have resulting in no longer have the lowest sets of vents in the bumper. This would have remove about 1-2" inches from the bumper which would put you much closer to the height of other aftermarket bumpers. Since you are missing the center section I'm not sure how well this would work or look when its done, but I thought I would share. Oh, and I think for the splitter/guard I was going to use diamond plate, but hadn't fully thought that one through yet, and couldn't decided if it would have looked best polished or powder coated a particular color.

There was a couple of different custom front designs that I have come up with, that I wish I would have had the time and money to play around with.
