There was a huge oil spill recently in the SF Bay, Coast Guard initially reported it as 140 gallons, turns out it was 58,000 gallons.
People are scrambling for volunteers as the proper people were never notified by the USCG. I'm going to try and go help out for a few hours on Saturday if I can (Gotta find time between recovering from Rozwell911CSVT's bachelor party tonight, gotta get my suit pressed, gotta go pick up my shoes). Some more info here:
UC Davis: Oiled Wildlife Care Network (http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/owcn/)
Baykeeper (http://www.baykeeper.org/)
International Bird Rescue Research Center (http://www.ibrrc.org/)
Text me or IM me if you're interested!
