Sorry to hear that. >.< Is insurance going to cover it at least?

Let me guess, it was an old woman wasn't it?! I believe they are the reason why we have to drive insured... My life has almost been clipped short or taken a different turn because of old women 3 or 4 times so far.
It's a conspiracy I swear!

Seriously though that does suck, make her pay for a new bumper with fresh paint!

I don't think you can blame the Mini for hitting your bumper.

Yeah, and born in 1948 really isn't that old, my Grandpa is 88 and he still drives fine..

From the rear

He's been hit in the rear three times this year. I think he must like getting hit from behind

That sucks Jeff. Like the others, hate the driver not the mini. My mom owns a 2005 Mini Cooper S and I have to say the car is a fugging blast to drive. So, don't hate on Mini's. ;)

Congrats!!

So I'm assuming, "some time to think," means you're trying to decide which color paper to print off your acceptance letter on?? :)

Taras and I are not on speaking terms. He ripped me off with that car. Engine was f-ed, clutch went to $hit...I'd rather not talk about it.

How's your new vehicle?

:cover:

 The car is great! I love Cougars

For my birthday/christmas, I am going to be begging my parents for a car audio upgrade so that it'll be *finished* for a while at least. To finish her off...Alpine Type-R comps up front and a 4-channel Alpine amp pushing 70Wx4 RMS.

I am an Alpine Type-R (w)hore. Once complete, the system will be: Alpine head unit, Alpine Type-R comps up front and Alpine Type-R 5x7's in the rear, both of which will be powered with an Alpine 4-channel. As for the sub, it is a 12" Type-R powered by, you guessed it, an Alpine amp ;)

Nothin wrong with that :) I'm currently thinking about getting a set of the type s 5x7 coaxials for my car as my speakers are terrible. Bass as low as it goes (-7) and they still buzz a little when I'm listening on the highway.

Spend a bit more and get the Type-R's. You'll be much happier. The Type-S's just aren't that great.

Ikesound is a great wholesaler. You can get last years Type-R's (http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/6214)for less than Type-S's if you were going to purchase them at Crutchfield or Best Buy.

Another speaker that I would recommend would be the Polk db570's. They have pretty good highs and I was impressed with the bass response. They are about $50-60 online.

P.S. - it is best to listen to speakers before purchasing them. It is fine and dandy to hear them in a store, but hearing a particular speaker in a car is leaps and bounds better than in the store. I have the Alpine SPR-57C's, so if you want to hear them in a Cougar, I would be willing to let you listen to them sometime.

Well my newer Infinity was ok.. till i got in a bit of a accident on Mon night... rear ended this Afgan Lady who was at the end of a right handed merge.. waiting for god knows what.. i was approaching and the light changed to green so i hit the gas and turned.. well the damn lady was right there stopped and i hit my brake's and smacked the back of her... Really pissed me off.. to make a long story short, after my Suv gets fixed, i am looking at a 3L, either a coug or a countour.. they will be cheaper to insure and you get a great car for not a lot of money...

Hmmmm I'm not really looking for anything fancy though, and the cheaper the better thats for sure. I have some decent pioneers in the Contour, maybe I'll just pull those out and put them in the Cougar. I really haven't decided yet. If I were to go that route I could buy something like the Type-R's for the Contour and be happier with that. The older type r's can be found on ebay for a little less than that site you listed here ALPINE SPR-57C TYPE R 5"x7" COAXIAL SPEAKER PAIR NEW 07 - (eBay item 140175589060 end time Nov-10-07 21:44:52 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-SPR-57C-TYPE-R-5-x7-COAXIAL-SPEAKER-PAIR-NEW-07_W0QQitemZ140175589060QQcmdZViewItem) but that's still more than I can afford to spend on something like speakers when my car could use much more important things at the moment

but, the Contour isn't using it's speakers at the moment and won't be for the next five months... ;) I'm sure it wouldn't mind right?
