No i am not trolling or jumping chapters lol, well kinda :eek:
But just wanted to know whats it like there, i am flying out on the 26th for a job interview with a Security Company called Wackenhut (are they any good?). They are paying for my flight, trip, food, rental, everything lol just for me to come out for a interview. So i was wondering if i land this job, witch sounds like i already did if they are doing this. Whats it like living here? Anything fun to do? Oh and anyone near Severna Park? there is a few houses there that i will be checking out while i am there for a week. Just wanted to get the skiny on ur state and that town lol.

I haven't heard of Wackenhut, but that doesn't mean anything, since I'm not up on security companies.
I don't know specifically about Severna Park, but the Baltimore/DC/Annapolis area is full of things to do, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
As for what it's like living here... I just got to work after an hour long commute that usually takes half an hour (due to an accident on US 50)... :banghead: Bad time for me to answer that question. :)
I'm near Severna Park! It's a nice area, but fairly expensive to live in.
Never heard of Wackenhut. I googled them, here is their website, if you don't already have it. (http://www.g4s.com/usw) I'm guessing they do work for NSA and Ft. Meade. :shrug:
Severna Park is in Anne Arundel County, about 15 minutes north of Annapolis (http://www.annapolis.gov/), our state capitol. Baltimore City is about 30 minutes north of Severna Park, and downtown has tons of things to do. Glen Burnie is another city that is close by, and there are 2 malls and a bunch of restaurants and other businesses in that area. There's a racetrack in Crofton, about 25 minutes south of Severna Park, called Capital Raceway (http://www.capitolraceway.com/capitol_raceway_contact_and_location.htm).

Well here is a wierd question for ya all lol. What u all doing on 28th around Noon to 2pm ish? My friend i am basically hanging out with for the week her best friend is having a baby shower and well i got nothing to do between that time she is my escort, and i cant check into the hotel room i got booked tell 4pm. Staying in a different one on saturday night near the ocean for the heck of it.
So i am trying to find something to do between that time frame. Anyone wanna meet or something?

What hotel are you staying at?
We can try to figure something out, even if it just ends up being a few of us who can hang out.

Haven't been to the hotel, but the area, yes. There's a Ruby Tuesday right there and a Hoyt's movie theater (which are frequently used for our meets).

Well i will be there 26th through 29th, but i am really there tell the 2nd, just from the 30th to the 2nd i will be in DC and seeing family members i havnt seen in ages. Moday is my big interview day :biggrin:
Okay, so you want to do something on this coming Sunday (the 28th) from around 12 to 2. :)
What are everyone's plans??
As previously mentioned, the movie theater and Ruby Tuesday are very close by (although not across the street). This hotel is a little closer to BWI (http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-378790-comfort_suites-i).

I'm open that day, unless skating starts Sunday practice, which I doubt it will. In any case it would end at noon.

i am game for anything i just also found out that Monday i got from about Noonish to about 4ish open then to, i check out at noon at the hotel, and she dosnt get off tell 4:30pm. she is trying to get a half day but dosnt look like its going so well with her boss :(
I wouldn't recommend that. Some of the pool halls are a little rough. Linthicum is a nice area for the most part, but parts of it border Baltimore City and certain places aren't good to hang out at, especially with nice cars.
After doing a little bit of work around here, I could probably host a hang out for a bit here (with pool table) if there's enough interest.
I work on Monday, sorry. :(

I was worried about that.
Yeah, that's my only fear. I don't know that place. I know a few in Glen Burnie and some of those I wouldn't recommend either. There's one in Pasadena that's fairly calm during the day, I am going to find out about their hours.
I've been working on getting things settled here, so if we want to go that route, I can do some more cleaning and straightening and the basement is available. (Now with new 37" flatscreen tv! ;) )

It's looking like Jeff will be available from noon - 2:00.
If everyone decides that my house is cool, we can have it until whenever. At a pool hall, it's going to be an hourly fee for the table.
I did enough stuff this week that my house is available if that's the route that is decided on. :)

Basic directions:
From the Baltimore area:
695 to exit 2 - Route 10 south
Follow Route 10 south to the crossover with Route 100
Stay left! This will put you onto Route 100
Take exit 19, Catherine Ave.
Turn left at the end of the exit ramp (you will want to be in the RIGHT left turn lane).
Turn right at the light onto Mountain Road.
Follow Mountain Road until you see the 7-11, the road before that is my neighborhood.
Turn left onto Mansion House Crossing (road at 7-11).
From the Annapolis area:
Take Route 2 north through Severna Park
Turn right onto Magothy Bridge Road
Follow it through the light and over the little bridge
Turn left onto Edwin Raynor Boulevard
Turn left at the light onto Mountain Road
Turn right just past the 7-11 onto Mansion House Crossing
From the Columbia area:
Take Route 100 east
At the crossover for Route 10, move to the left to stay on Route 100
Take exit 19, Catherine Avenue
Turn left at the end of the exit ramp (you will want to be in the RIGHT left turn lane).
Turn right at the light onto Mountain Road.
Follow Mountain Road until you see the 7-11, the road before that is my neighborhood.

I can swing up that way, if no one is going by there - you're hosting, so I hate to make you do extra work.
It's not that big of a deal if it's not convenient to someone else. If you don't mind doing it, that's great, but if it's too much for you then I can do it. :)

Hey it was fun, sorry i had to dip out early, well i kinda stayed late but ya lol. Interview went great, I got called back yesturday and was told i basically got the job, i got tell Dec. 3rd to tell them if i want the job or not and if i do take it i dont have to move out there tell mid january or so. But ya i had fun at the meet. Thx for having me come

Hey guys hows it going over there lol, i heard its nice out there still well to me it is, been cold here lol low in the 20s high sometimes in the low 40/30s. Oh and cant forget the lovely snow but it hasnt stayed yet.
I made my mind up and i am not going to be taking that job instead i am going to finish out schooling here then see whats really out there, the company said they would keep me in mind tell at least feb if i ever remake up my mind again but i dont think thats going to happen.
so it was fun meeting ya all, and thx for having me over for the meet

Change of luck lol, well i wouldnt call it luck, i got fired from my job here in MN for reading a newspaper, yes i said that right lol a newspaper, guess it wasnt my bosses favorite one :disgust:, when i called the company here in MD they laughed at that and told me that they were happy i contacted them and welcome me with arms open
so i am coming back out once again the 12th thru the 16th, to check in with that company and a few apts around the area for now, will look for a house later on, and i should be ready to be out there by mid jan to live and work if i dont chicken out again :rolleyes:
