It's official....We just signed the lease today....We're moving to Chicago in two weeks!! Two bedroom, garden-level apartment in River West. Unfortunately there is not much parking for Neco members, but we'll figure something out!
So anyway, Brian and I were at Ikea last week picking out a couch. We were testing one to see how big it was...When we were sitting at either end Brian said, "Look you can fit a whole person between us!" And I followed that with, "BBox could fit there!" :rofl:
And then we were looking at bar stools and I sat on one (really cheap!) and said, "Man, this thing is wobbly for me...that means it will be even more wobbly for you....and for BBox...that's just not happening!" It was then we realized that we were talking about BBox a lot, and basically building an apartment around him! :rofl::rofl: We had a good laugh and said, "Well, he better damn well come visit us then!"
We will be having a party...just not sure when yet. We'll let you guys know!

ive only used uhaul, there isnt a whole lot of variation, but you might be able to get a cheaper rate during the week since there is a higher demand for weekend rentals

We just had friends with trucks/minivans and trailers including our own truck...too bad we sold that Ranger...4 low, 6 Disc CD Changer....:biggrin:

My parents started renting from "route 12 rental" in Arlington Hts. They used them to move my sister into school. Apparently their prices are the best.

and... ... because you asked... IT'S A BOY! wooo!!! It really is Reagan II. Jen went with a friend shopping and came back with some boy clothes already... all of it with cars on it! :)

and uh... while I'm sharing news... I'm uh... buying a new car. Cougar doesn't do Cleveland Snows, and I can't take Jen's car if she's home with a kid... and I have serious doubts about a car seat fitting in the back...
Any suggestions? Thus far my top contender is the Lincoln MKZ (I'm old). 3.5L 260 some hp Duratec... AWD.
oh yah... and the Cougar isn't going anywhere so don't worry... it just may lose it's Garage spot to a spot in the lot with a Car Cover. I'm seriously never selling it.

The move went well, but we won't have Cable/Internet until Friday so I'm posting this up from school. What sucks is that Comcast has the monopoly over cable in Chicago, and all I've heard are **** stories about their customer service. They SAID they'd be here on friday between noon and 5, but we'll see.
Mary is a little upset about the apt because it wasn't cleaned, there's Spackle marks all over the wall, the floor was filthy, there were dead bugs inside the tub, the fridge needed to be disinfected, and the previous owner's Sattelite dish left wires coming out of the walls with no way to remove them, short of snipping them off. And this is all after the landlord told us that this place would be spotless when we moved in.
But overall, we're happy. It just needs a little work to make it nice and neat. You should see all the crap Mary packed! One of the bedrooms in the apartment is STUFFED wall to wall with stuff.. We're probably gonna end up getting rid of a bunch of stuff.
We're probably gonna throw a shindig sometime. It's all street parking, but there should be plenty of spaces for you all to park. You just may need to walk a block to get to the apartment. It's a safe neighborhood, so it's all good.
Well, until we get Internet again, Take care folks!
OH! AND CONGRATS REAGAN! That's Awesome! I'll let Mary know the good news! Names yet?

hrm, comcast came to my pad pretty quickly. I guess it's different downtown. I do have to call them up again and get an HD receiver and all the channels...cause I bought me an HD tv.

Yes, it's true....I did have a TON of boxes!! But I also had a bulk of the furniture at my parents' house. And, yes I was pissed that the apartment was filthy (and still is because my Wal-mart vacuum sucks HUGE balls)!!! But the apartment is really starting to come together now that we threw out all the crap left by the previous tenants and the rest of our empty boxes. It took a few days to get everything unpacked but I think we're starting to settle in!

The place looks great! Everything is set up now and we had my family over yesterday so we know that the place can handle at least four additional people! :tongue: We're not sure when the party will be because we didn't want it to be too close to other meets or the holidays....What do you guys think? When would you be willing/able to come out to chicago?
