I was driving my car home in the rain and the wipers were working then suddenly they froze in mid wipe and started making a loud clicking/knocking sound. I tried to put the lever into the off position but this did nothing, the sound persisted. Then the noise went from a knocking to a really loud persistent sound (louder than the motor or the radio) Kinda seemed like the wiper motor may have frozen up. the ony way to stop it was to turn the car off. I pulled fuse 20 which the manual said was for the wipers and the noise is gone but no wipers.:( Has anyone had this problem or can anyone cofirm what the problem may be?
