Seats from other cars that fit cougars?

Forgive me if this has allready been covered, but I searched a little and didn't find anything. I was just wondering what other model seats ie integra, s2000, and other cars with thinner seats would also fit well in a cougar. I know some cars have wider seats with no center console. I have found lots of good deals on nice used leather seats. Has anyone tried any factory seats from other car companies? Any pics? I figure since racing seats pretty much fit most similar size cars, that if the brackets where made, than factory seats could be interchanged also. Thanks

I know Probe seats won't fit. Contour seats are a close fit and Newer European Mondeo seats will bolt right up. Focus I am not sure about. Everything else you are going to have to measure and try your self.

Fords around the same yr should bolt up closely. Ive always wanted newer seats with heated seats, but the problem would be that the rear seats would look different or needed to be removed which i wouldn't want.

Why not just make your current seats heated so they match

I know Probe seats won't fit. Contour seats are a close fit and Newer European Mondeo seats will bolt right up. Focus I am not sure about. Everything else you are going to have to measure and try your self.

The SVT Contour seats won't fit w/out welding the bracket to the other side of the rail. You will also need to fab up a wiring harness as they are different.

Also, 01+ Cougar seats will not have the same wiring harness for power seats as a 99-00.

Well I got seats out of an 02 XR and they fit w/ no problems. My plug & wires matched.:shrug: Everything works perfectly fine. I love the all power drivers seat.:biggrin:

At our last meet one of the guys had different connectors. He had to swap the seat out of an 01 so he could adjust it and then put it back in his car.

Must be some stupid part carry over before the change.

Right, as his Cougar was a early 99, and all of his interior parts are now 02 35Th anniversary....

the early 99s have a lot of tiny differences from the late 99-02s but when you try something like this, those tiny differences turn into much bigger problems...;)

Not sure if this is the same for late 99-02 full power seats, but when I swaped in my 02 seats which only has power raise and lower, from my previous full power early 99 seats all I need to do was cut off the connectors and wire up one power and one ground wire. The rest of the wires were not needed, not sure exactly what all the other wires were for, but that's what Seatman told me to do.

Two wires are seatbelt-minder, 2 are airbag proving circuit and 2 are for the actual power seat.

Ask the seller to measure the distance between the mounting points. Or visit FocalJet or FocusFanatics and request somebody post mounting point measurements.

They don't fit, and it doesn't seem very likely that they can be modified to fit easily.

I've always wanted srt-4 seats in my cougar but it has power height. I'd actually rather not have full power seats because it takes sooooo long to move forward and back
